Flying Dog Trail

Average Rating:    (5 of 5)

No. of Reviews: 2

The Flying Dog trail is a very well-planned and expertly constructed trail high in the mountains above Jeremy Ranch in the Park City area. One end of the trail connects to the Jeremy 24-7 trail and the other end connects to the Cobblestone Loop. What this means is, you have to climb another trail to get to this trail! You can get to both of these access points from either the Glenwild trailhead (most riders start here) or from the 24-7 trailhead at Jeremy Ranch. As the trail climbs up above the lowland sagebrush, you will enter forests of oaks and maples. As you climb higher, you enter aspen forests with a few firs scattered about. The trail curves and dips constantly. Switchbacks and climbing turns are smooth and well-designed. The shortest route from either trailhead is a 10-mile ride with 1500 vertical feet elevation change. The longest route is a tough 23-mile butt-buster with 3000 feet of climbing. If you’re going to do a trail in the Jeremy Ranch area, you need to do this one!

Summary:
smooth flowy singletrack

Recommended Route:
for the best flowy singletrack descent results ride this trail in a counter clockwise direction this way you pedal up all the switchbacks and descend down flowy singletrack instead of the other way round!! I dont know about you but descending down switch backs is anoying when you have to slow down every two hudred feet...and when you get around towards the end of flying dog past the jeremy ranch trails make sure you take the stealth trail down

Summary:
Flying dog is a great XC trail north of Park City. Its moderately techncial and very fun trial with a variety of loop options.

Recommended Route:
Start at glenwild riding west towards jeremy ranch. Continue on stealth past the freeride area and then go up flying dog. From the top continue on flying dog down the switchbacks to cobblestone and finally to glenwild. $$
