Summary:
my favorite trail in moab. super uncrowded so i hope i dont ruin that. i like it as a point to point trail. we always shuttle it using two cars, i dont drive all the way here to spend time riding pavement. begins with some easy / moderate climbing with lots of lifts and some sand. great views and lots to see while climbing. then some really fast descents with smooth drops and some small launches that make for a really good time. towards the end there are some small creek crossings whichg are really refreshing from the dessert heat. at the end its a big but short dirt road climb out to a neighborhood above moab. from here its a short 40mph paved downhill race back to the other car, it's almost the most fun part of the ride. overall this is a really fast, technical and varied trail for cross country and all mountain riders.

Recommended Route:
point to point, to avoid unnecessary pavement at the begining.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
never found a bad one

Summary:
This has long been one of my favorite Moab rides but the jeepers have really thrashed it. As of April 2006, lots of fun ledgy techy stuff has been turned into massive drive-arounds and rubble fields. That said, it's still fun, the scenery is still beautiful, and the out down Mill Creek Canyon is still a rocky, spashy blast.

Recommended Route:
If you want to ride it as a loop (recommended) - leave your car at the 4-way stop - intersection of Spanish Valley Road and Spanish Trail (I think). Look uphill from the intersection and you'll see a round-about. Ride the pavement to Ken's Lake first... there's always a head-wind and you'll get it out of the way before you're tired from the end of the ride. Good part - it'll give you about 6 miles of paved warm-up before you hit the big hill above Ken's Lake, and it'll give you a fun zippy paved downhill at the end of Mill Creek Canyon. About 17 miles around.

I have yet to find a bad one... ;)

dont ride unless you know yer stuff.. great trail for advanced riders, a little ruff fer mediocar type dudes. don't trust the locals, cuz they lie. don't ask for directions, and use your best judgement.

Summary:
I feel kind of bad writing a review about this trail, as it's one of Moab's most underated, underidden trails. It is fairly technical and brings to mind a ride similar to Porcupinme Rim. It is a ton of fun! Other amazing and underrated trails around Moab are Top of the World and Bartlett Wash (though the latter gets more crowded every year).

Recommended Route:
Just grab a guide book, or stop in at a shop and get directions. It's easy to find. If you shuttle the ride, start by the lake and end at the country club--it's most fun that way.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Top of the World, Bartlett Wash, all the standard Moab rides.
