The Whole Enchalada

This ride is 26.5 miles long, with 7000 vertical feet of downhill. It's an unforgettable epic experience, but is only for very strong, skilled, and adventuresome riders. It peaks at 11,200 feet in the La Sal Mountains and drops to the Colorado River. Climbing will total about 2000 feet. Season: Mid July through September.

Burro Pass to Warner Lake Camp Ground, to Hazard County, to the Kokopelli Section (with connection to UPS, which is officially closed), to Procupine Rim or Sand Flats.

Take use of a local shuttle service, cause if you do all of this trail, you probably won't want to drive all the way back up to get your car.

Summary:
Rode this 2 weeks ago. Weather was perfect; short sleeves all the way. Surprisingly we only encountered about a dozen other riders all the way down. I rode from Kokopelli back in April and it was packed. Dropped off at Geyser Pass, up Burro, to Hazard, to Kokopelli, to UPS, to Porcupine Rim. Rode back to town from the bottom at the Colorado River. We had this at close to 37 miles total. Did the smartest thing I ever did in my life: bought a spare deraileur hanger about 10 mins before shuttle departure for $15. Snapped hanger and cable about 3 miles in. Was able to get the rear to stay in 7 so I had 3 gears. There are great parts and not so great parts to this ride but all together an epic. Must do once in your life. Wanted to throw up at the end.

Recommended Route:
Down

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Amasaback to Jackson. Sovereign. Slickrock.

Summary:
Epic Moab ride. 2000 Ft of climbing over 26 miles, 7000 Ft of descending. We used Moab Cycle for the shuttle, $20 each for our group of 6, plus tip. We were dropped off at Geyser Pass, and climbed to the top of Burro, some hiking, to steepness and loose gravel, not bad though. Descending the back side was steep and icy last weekend, but after about 300 ft the ice was gone.
The other post is right on about the route, FYI the "notch" on LPS is sick, we watched the Super D and an elite woman rode it while we all walked and slipped down.

Recommended Route:
Mileage is about 34 if you ride back to town from negro bill canyon.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Bartlet, Sovereign.

Summary:
We used a shuttle and was dropped off at the top of Geyser Pass, then we rode 1.1 miles to the Burro Pass Trail head, then .9 miles to the top of the Pass. From there, pucker up and make sure the brakes work. There are steep and loose sections, tight switchbacks, rocks, roots, stream crossings, log jumps, and this is just the first section. We did this mid July (stupid stupid stupid), but had plenty of supplies for the journey. Some of the most amazing views and singletrack that I have ever seen and been on. Take the time and do this route.
