Ridden Trail: Every few months

Weekend Warrior Summary: Not a bad trail really, if your looking for some technical riding, but if your using this to "simply" loop back to your car, I say it's not worth it. To many times you have to carry your bike and then end of the trail at Kane Creek sucks to get to the other side. Bug spray is mandatory once you get there, as this is a sweet breeding place for blood sucking mosquitos.

Ridden Trail: Ridden Once

Cross Country Rider Summary: It was like carrying your bike on your back down a narrow, steep stairwell in a skyscraper. Also beware the "goathead thorns" at the end across the creek and in and near the parking lot. We all got flats and one guy had so many he just bought new tires. SUCKS,SUCKS,SUCKS Recommended Route: Take Amassa Back up and back...don't ruin your payoff for all that climbing by taking the Jackson trail from hell.

Ridden Trail: Ridden Once

Cross Country Rider Summary: I rode this trail, a few drops excepted, on a hardtail with the seat all the way up and thought it was a blast. (Even when I blasted my groin against the seat going down a super steep switchback chute and having to do an emergency full-stop before a drop that would have iced me). I really like steep technical singletrack - that's exactly the appeal of this trail. It descends the backside of amasa back (amasa front, then?) with stunning views of the colorado river, poison spider mesa, and surrounding area. You should stop riding to enjoy the views though, because there is a section of moderately scary exposure on the trail where a momentary lapse of attention could bring you to meet jimmy hoffa at the bottom in NoTime. It may be important to check at local shops before riding it, because at the end of the trail there is a creek bed that you must cross that looks like it could be even more dangerous than the trail itself in high water. I rode Jackson's in early July and the bed was only a bit moist; I imagine that it could get deep though. Recommended Route: For the best loop in the world, if you are a world cup marathon racer, have nuclear fusion metabolism, and 13 hours to spare, jesus lord:
Moab->Kane Creek Road-> Amasa Back trail -> Jackson's -> Moab Rim -> Hidden Valley Trail -> Moab (eat a pizza or two) -> lasal loop road -> geyser pass rd. -> Burro Pass (vomit)-> hazard county -> kokopelli's -> LPS -> porcupine rim -> HELL.
(Or you can just ride the suggested route!) Other recommended trails in the same area: Spring Racecourse loop

Ridden Trail: Once a year

Downhiller Summary: This trail is not in any publications, but is worth doing at least one time. The technical aspect and the views make it something you have to do at least once. The speed and the drops coming down Amasa is more fun, but if you're into technical riding with severe consequences this is something you'll enjoy. If you don't it's worth walking your bike through the sketchy areas at least once. Recommended Route: Same as described. Other recommended trails in the same area: UPS to Porcupine.
Behind the Rocks.
Sovereign.
