La Sal Mtns - Schuman''s
1 reviews
 5 of 5

Schuman''s is a ''downhill only'' trail for bikes in the heart of the La Sal mtns...and you''d better have your tech shoes on for this one...relatively unknown. Ribbons thru tight aspen and log crossings abound. Steep steep sections ++ creek crossings and baby as well as adult heads to test your squiggling ability. Drops w/turns before you''re ready. Wiggling and Giggling at its finest. Advanced++ riders. Seriously! Not for the inexperienced..

Trail Directions
We like to camp at Oowah Lake camp..off the LaSal Loop Rd. Warner Lake is up the rd a little more and offers more amenities if you need that. Ooowah is a little more remote. Plan on Hike-a-biking while in the La Sals as most of the good stuff requires that. Not saying the trails aren't ridable, it's just some sections aren't do-able. Go to Warner Lake and ride across to the south end of the lake. Go thru the cattle gate and start looking on the right for arrows carved into the trees. Find them and soon trail opens up and becomes very visible. This is the top of Schuman's. The trail cuts across a couple of 2-tracks but find the 1-track on the other side...this trail is a treat for those of us that love technical 1-track. Not for the faint of heart. The trail dumps out onto the Oowah Lake Rd. Go up to Oowah or down to the La Sals Loop rd. Depends on where you parked.

Summary:
I love this trail. It tests me every time I ride it. Been riding this one for ~10 yrs. now. Read the trail discript. It says all

Recommended Route:
There are several loops that can be done from either Warner Lake or Oowah Lake. Always some hike-a-biking envolved. Well worth that! Moonlight Meadows can be hooked into this as well as Burro Pass...all trails lead to SCHUMAN's.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Moonlight Meadows, Burro Pass(pant..pant..)
