Warner Valley - Honeymoon Loop
1 reviews
 3 of 5

The Honeymoon Loop is a fast ride, with only 200 feet of elevation change. There's about 2 miles of singletrack, 4 miles on ATV-width trail, and 1/2 of tougher riding in a wash-bottom. Technically, this ride is fairly easy, and could qualify as a family ride with older children and teens.

Trail Directions
Get off I-15 at the Toquerville/ La Verkin exit and head south to Hurricane. Turn south at the Chevron Station in Hurricane (700 West). Go south 2 miles and turn right at 2060 South. (If you arrive at a T-intersection, with a right turn going into the airport, you went too far.) Follow the road west of the airport and past the Sky Ranch to end of the pavement at a cattleguard. (About 6 miles, GPS N 37° 05.425' W 113° 18.696'.) Keep straight on the biggest and leftmost of 3 roads that fork after the cattleguard. RESET your odometer. Continue another 2.2 miles on gravel to a junction at GPS N 37° 03.501' W 113° 18.375' and turn right. At mile 5.0 (2.8 from the right turn at GPS N 37° 01.266' W 113° 18.478') the road veers right. Ignore the smaller roads that go straight and left! At mile 7.1, spot an open area on the left at GPS N 37° 00.728' W 113° 21.472'. See the gate in the fence about 100 yards from the road? That's the trailhead, GPS N 37

Summary:
The whole warner valley area is super beautiful and has a lot of riding; whether or not it is good is up to individual tastes. This trail is pretty remote in that it takes a little while to get out there, and it feels even more isolated that it is. I have never seen another person or even a parked car when i've been out there. The riding is pretty fast and easy. It sometimes seems like its downhill both ways.(!) A lot of roller coastery areas. Not a lot of use on these trails and the weeds sometimes make the trail a little difficult to discern on approach. Since the valley is so wide open, and there are a lot of different trails, it is pretty difficult to get lost. The trail approach that is listed on this site is the better of the two; you can come in from the St. G side, but the road is a lot worse especially for non-4x4's. Overall this is a good place to ride for a leisure afternoon or relaxing Sat. morn, or to be able to practice racing endurance with no-one around, but there isn't really anything technical in the area that I have found. The area is generally a little windy, which keeps the temp down.
