A favorite short ride to fill the small gaps between epics, perfect for a quick before work ride.
Trail starts off with a steep decent on slate rock, then transitions to dirt. There are several routes down the mountain. There are too many cross winding trails to note them all. However, this is the route I normally take. Head down the steep slate trail, meet up with the larger main train. Head down that trail until you come to a side track that drops down to the left. Head through the whoop-de-do filled shoot, then follow the trail to the left and across the glen. Course your way around to the face of the foot hills, and follow the trail as it heads north. Do not cross into private property, clearly marked with fences, instead if you should come upon a fence turn around and back track. There are several routes around any private land. Continue until you come upon the Bonneville shoreline trail. Follow the Bonneville shoreline trail to the Provo City Parkway just west of Bridal Veil Falls.
Go up Provo Canyon to the Squaw Peak road turnoff, about 2 miles into the canyon on the south. Drive up to the fork; go right to the overlook parking lot. Trail starts just to the north of the rock wall, heading north.
Summary: This trail has quick access from the road, and there are a few fun smooth parts, but it is pretty rough for beginners. You need good front shocks if you try it. Yes it is mostly downhill, but there are a few killer up-hill parts where most people get off and push their bike up. The second half of the trail is the best.
Recommended Route: You don't have to go toward the cemetery to end. Instead, cut back and cross the squaw peak road and go all the way down to the lower bridal veil falls parking lot where you can leave a car. Sometimes I take just that lower section from 1/2 way up squaw peak road to the lower bridal veil falls parking lot.

Summary: I have been down this downhill single track several times now and every time something new appears out of the mountain. There are several hidden jumps and drop offs that have been built to the side of the trail so they can be missed easily if your not looking for them. Approximately 1/3 from the bottom there is a few double jumps with some good gaps and ramps made from crates that are fun to hit. The most rememberable part of the trail are the 5 in a row jumps and landings that are located at the bottom and in the gully just north of the cemetery at the bottom. Last 4th of July my friend, little brother and I hit these jumps. I ate it after the second one and my friend made it to the fourth one but wrecked hard. He ended up with a dislocated wrist, both bones broken in his forearm, broken shoulder bone and torn shoulder ligaments.

Summary: Its honestly been a couple of years since I rode this trail, but a couple of summers ago I rode it every other day, until I ripped my kneecap off on it. Its an really fun trail that you can bus up to, and be dropped off at. For downhillers, its a free ticket to a fast descent. Watch for equestrians on the way down though. I've ended up in the belly of a horse or two on the way down around wooded corners. I recall there being some pretty deep ruts in the springtime because of the run-off too.
Recommended Route: Head up the squaw peak trail road and at the first "lookout" you'll see the trail head. This trail ends up just above timpview highschool, at a cemetary.
