Huge loop with a killer climb up Hurrah Pass at the beginning. Fun tech downhill, then sandy single track. Extremely steep portage, then killer downhill

Ridden Trail:
Ridden Once

Summary:
This is a fun ride. One Moab guide book classifies it as a "Moses" this becomes apparhent when you realize that you actually may be out in the desert for 40yrs. So anyhow you head out for almost 10 miles of dirt road and jeep trail. At the top of Hurrah Pass you do a really fun downhill into the valley, be careful because it is loose and rocky. Once you reach the valley you take a right hand turn in which you go through a gate. there are signs to some dudes camel ranch so if you see them your going good. The ride to Jacob's Ladder is hot and sandy so bring lots of water. Shade is minimal. The portage is really cool and I really enjoyed it. At the top of the 1/4 mile portage you reach the Amasa Back which delivers a short technical climb before you reap the rewards of the killer downhill, which is followed by one more crappy loose steep climb after crossing the stream. This will put you back on Kane Creek Rd. and back to that nice Air-Conditioned Vehicle. The course is approximately 25 miles. I would give it 5 stars if it weren't for the heinous sand.

Recommended Route:
Start at Amasa Back parking lot. Head up Kane Creek Rd. climb Hurrah Pass, hoof it up Jacob's Ladder, and descend the Amasa Back.
