Old Dark Hallow

Get ready for some of the most tecnical riding in the area. Please don't take this trail if your a intermediate or begining rider. The trail drops through a aspen and spruce forest and has several large drop offs, log crossings and very steep single track. To clean this trail with no dabs is almost unheard of. The trail ends up connecting with Paradise Springs Trail. If you like climbing hang a left and ride it back to the Dark Hallow Trail/Hendrickson Lake Trail. Follow the trail to a dirt road called Second Left Hand Canyon. From there ride to Hwy 143 and Parowan. Call 435-677-2013 for a shuttle, George's Ski Shop.

Trail Directions
Drive to the Brian Head Summit and park at the trail head, 11,307 Ft above sea level. Follow the trail signs for Dark Hallow. Proceed down Dark Hollow for approx. 3/4 of a mile. As you enter the first large meadow start looking to your right. You'll see a small pile of logs and a thin single track heading North East through the meadow. The single track disappears behind a house sized rock. This is Old Dark Hallow.

Summary:
Much more technical and slower than the regular Dark Hollow. It would be better if someone would take a chain saw in there from time to time, but then again, if your into that kind of riding you'll love it.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Red Mountain, Navajo Lake, Lowder, Dark Hollow, Bunker Creek
