Ridden Trail: Once a year
| |
Reviewed by: Greg
, from Utah Summary: This is an awsome ride. I ride it once a year just to remember how great it is. I have seen deer, ekl, eagles, hawks, and mountain lion. More often that not you are the only person on this trail which is somewhat strange when you run in to a mountain lion 15 miles from anyone, but that is what it is all about. There are other great trails in the area on top of the mytoge mountain there are numerous fire roads to check out. Doc creek by the fish lake lodge is epic. Dry springs trail on the south end of lake is epic. Bowery haven trail is epic and there are many more next to Johnson resivoir. Go and have fun. The best time of year is June through august.
Recommended Route: Same as above

Ridden Trail: Ridden Once
| |
Reviewed by: thegraydog Summary: The singletrack loop around the lake is in, sort of. Consider it an epic. Tough climb out SE, stupid traildozer track along East, high above the lake, regular vistas. Twisty descent to a two-mile portage along NE shoreline. Lovely flying singletrack in NW, leading to urban trail along the shore by the lodge. Next time we'll camp up on Mytoge Mountain (east of the lake) and ride two-track as well. Splendid country. Buy a book, "The Proper Edge Of The Sky", by Edward Geary, and fall in love with middle Utah. Recommended Route: Counterclockwise from lodge or any parking on west shore. Find the singletrack along the lake, go south.
