A sick climb which will humble any rider. The trail consists of slickrock ledges that basically go straight up. Once at the top, there is a variety of different terrain to ride.
Summary: The initial climb up from the trail head is ridiculous. I would love to see someone actually stay on their bike and ride up atleast 50% of this. You would have to be in extremely good shape and one of the most skilled riders around. If you are into pushing your bike up a 25 degree slick rock face with waist high ledges to climb up, go for it! If you still want to do this, make sure you have plenty of energy. Once you get up top, you get to walk through deep sand pits. I'm pretty much up for most things and am young and in good shape, but this was just not fun for me. Best parts: The view from up top, although I wasn't really enjoying myself by that point, and then the ride down on the steep-ass slick rock, which is actually Moab's downhill racecourse. I would attempt to ride this trail again. I might hike it though. In my opinion its not "riding", it's hiking/ walking with a bike.
Recommended Route: fly over it in a plane
Other recommended trails in the same area: We rode Klondike Bluffs also, which was definitely more mild, but if you are into staying on your bike for an entire ride, its cool. I found that about most of the riding and hyped-up trails in Moab, that unless you are a technical expert, you are walking a lot. Check out Tahoe- lots of smooth windy dirt singletrack - more my style in case you haven't figured that out already.

Summary: To ride this trail from the parking lot on Kane Creek road up to the top of the rim requires ascending the toughest climb i have ever done. you gain nearly 1000 feet in a mile. you can't really fathom that until you actually start riding the trail and take in it's difficulty. it is a climb that requires brakes, because when you stop to rest, you will roll backwards. however, once you are on top, it is a pretty fun, classic moab-esque terrain - lifts, sand, jeap roads, slickrock, rocky/loose technical sections. if you still have some energy, this stuff will be a fun challenge. however, if you are like me (i did it as an out/back) the first climb sapped most of my strength, and i wasn't very strong on the technical stuff. it made for a not so enjoyable trail, for me. however, it is worth doing simply for the views, and to experience the climb.
Recommended Route: uh, yeah`

Summary: Being a native of Moab I have been up and down this trail on foot, in 4X4, and on a bike... the absolute BEST is to go up in a 4X4 or on foot... great exercise on a bike too, but for a real heart pounding adrenaline rush of a time buy an all day pass on the lift and haul ass down the trail! While you're at it, the owners of the chair lift have put in a free-ride park that is to die for! Jumps, bridges, ladders, teeter-totters, etc. Not for the faint of heart! Another great option is to ride up the rim (or take the chair) and go out to the Hidden Valley Trail for breathtaking scenery, petroglyphs, and cliff dwellings. On this one you'll have to hike-a-bike down Barney Rubble to Angel Rock Road and a shuttle car or turn around and ride back to run the killer downhill, or... take the chair down, the view of the valley from the lift is awesome!
Recommended Route: up the lift... down the rim
Other recommended trails in the same area: ALL of them!!!! It's Moab.

Summary: As of 4/03 someone, probably the lift owners, have added a N. Shore style park up near the top of the slick rock climb - ladders up and over boulders, bridges, teeter totters, etc.... very cool.
Recommended Route: As you wish - Lift up from the front side or Spin up the back side. I did the spin and push approach - it's steep as hell and I am used to steep climbs at 6,000 feet.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Try em all once.
