Cross Country Rider Summary: I did the Widowmaker race there once and it was a grueling climb. I think I was either 2nd or third, but I don't remember but I remember it was hard. The scenery was spectacular though. But no downhill trail, which really sucked, but if your one of those climber freaks, you'll like it. Other recommended trails in the same area: Go to Park City for some fun!

Weekend Warrior Summary: You can ride the tram up and bike down. As mentioned in previous reviews it isn;t that great. More of a nasty test for your breaks than anything else. There are a lot of promising single track trails, but they are for hikers only, no bikes allowed. Recommended Route: Only one route is available :(

, from SLC Summary: I rode this last summer and was stoked when I got to the top, but the trail is lame for the most part. There is essentially no single track, no drops and nothing technical about the trail except that you better be in good shape. It's worth trying once just to say you did it and see what you ski in the winter looks like in the summer. Recommended Route: Same as described above. Other recommended trails in the same area: Mill D

Ridden Trail: Once a month

, from Salt Lake City Summary: This is a brutal, unrelenting climb. It takes you about 3300 in less than five miles. Basically it follows the snowbird service road to the top of the tram on Hidden Peak. It starts out with a series of gravely switchbacks and then begins to head east up the canyon. You will pass under the Gadzoom and Mid-gad lifts and begin to traverse your way under the tram cables and across to the Peruvian side of the resort. This is one of the few sections that you will make it out of granny gear. After another nasty climb, you will be at the top of the Peruvian lift. From here, the road begins to wind its way south, toward hidden peak. There is one all too short downhill section, a stream crossing and another even shorter downhill section. This is about the halfway point. From here it is just switchback after switchback of loose, gravely but very rideable (for some) double-track. Plan on about 1 to 2 hours for the ascent, depending on what kind of animal you are. If you can ride the whole way, you should make it in about 1.5 hours. The record, from this years Widowmaker Race, is a little over 47 minutes. The downhill not to be taken lightly. It is lightening fast and will likely heat your rim brakes up to their functional limits. I hated it all the way up, but cant wait to ride it again! You all know what I'm talking about! Recommended Route: You could start at the lodge and cut of about .75 miles and 300 feet verical, but i've never done it that way. Just stay on the double track from the lower snowbird parking lot all the way to the top of the tram.
