Summary:
I have ridden all over the US and many areas in BC Canada. My all time favorite trail. Well worth the drive. Not too long, not to technical. A great, unique ride. An amuzement park for your bike. If you fly into Los Vegas, skip blue diamond and make the drive to hurricane. FUN FUN FUN.

Summary:
The Gooseberry trails are mesmerizing. The tight turns, rolling terrain and one technical section after another make this mountain bike wonderland. Don't try talking to your buddy while you're riding or you will be off the trail in an instant -- just follow the white dots and you'll reach nirvana. If you do a long ride the slickrock will kick your ass eventually.

As long as the road is dry it's totally doable with a sedan. My '05 VW GTI made it no problem without bottoming out.

We visited the last week in Oct. Great camping on the mesa there are established sites with fire rings on the edge of the mesa on the way to the TH. Bring your own water.

Recommended Route:
Just follow the white dots. A topo trail map could be useful, though not really needed.

Summary:
A buddy and I rode Gooseberry on our way out to Moab. After riding Moab for a few days, we were itching to ride more diverse terrain, so we went back out to Goose. Incredible views and riding.

Fairly technical riding, with no big climbs to speak of. Lots of rolling hills, short burst climbs, sharp turns. If you're unfamiliar with the trail, you generally won't have more than 12 feet's worth of vision ahead of you. First timers should head out to The Point, the vista is amazing.

A 4WD to take you to the trailhead is highly recommended. We took my Accord up the dirt road, which was fine on a dry day. But we got caught in a thundershower and the road deteriorated badly in a matter of hours. Thick, slippery peanut-butter mud. Making it out to the road in one piece was my driving accomplishment of a lifetime.

The Chevron on the highway before the turnoff has excellent trailmaps available, highly recommended.

Summary:
Ridden twice. I'm a beginner, but I guess I caught on really quickly. I can't imagine a better trail. Fast single track, slickrock playgrounds, incredible views, it has everything. The only thing it's really missing is the really sketchy, steep descents with loose rocks covering the trail, but that's a very good thing. I was able to learn a whole lot of techniques and skills, and my advanced friends call it heaven. I haven't been to too many other places, but I tend to agree.

Summary:
We weren't sure where in the St. George/surrounding area we were going to ride, as we were up in Vegas and had planned to drive up to St. George to ride. Decided Gooseberry was the only place worth the drive. Was told by a LBS in St. George that there was no way the dirt roads were passable to drive on since there had been some rain the night before. We ended up with a map of rides in the area, which luckily had Goosberry and directions included. Decided to head up there anyway to check out the road. Was absolutely passable and we were really glad that we went out there. Took one of the trails from the parking lot, and I think ended up on the South Rim trail. Rode out to The Point. We ended up seeing two locals out there and hubby rode back with them on a scenic edge-of-the-cliff ride, while I took the fire road back. Neither of us had ever been on slick rock before (other than a little in Sedona), so it was a new experience. Trails are awesome, and the scenery is amazing. This is a must-ride. Can't wait to go back and check out more of the trails.

Recommended Route:
Pick up a map, or check out the maps at the parking lot. I'd like to try out the north rim trail, and the hidden canyon maze/trail. We kind of ran out of time. Took a lot of pics, and I fell a few times :)
