Cross Country Rider Summary: JEM is awesome. The review that was written saying that its really bumpy isnt true, he must have been on the wrong trail. Maybe he thought that it was supposed to be paved or something. Anyway, the wife and I rode the loop today and it was great. There is a few rocky downhills that are kind of rough but my wife and I both ride hardtails and still have a blast. We have rode it two weekends in a row and we havent seen anyone else riding. That is kind of nice sometimes. This ride is not too hard and alot of fun. Just dont fall off the cliff. Thank you that is all. Recommended Route: When you get into hurricane turn left at 100 east. continue on that road until you get to the top of the hill that kind of twists. Imediatley turn left onto the red dirt road. Other recommended trails in the same area: gooseberry.

Cross Country Rider Summary: Holy crap! I rode this trail today (Friday April 22, 2005) for the first time in a few months, and its bumpier then ever. Once you drop down into the wash it is bumpy as can be. There are freakin hefers (cattle) everywhere and they use this singletrack as their own little highway. Once you cross the road and continue on, its still smooth down there. But the upper section is such a pain now because of the hefers. I like to ride the 21 mile loop, and next time im riding down the road to the dirt road to avoid this crappy section of the JEM. Recommended Route: Start at the hurricane trail head, and backtrack and go up the steep dirt road. This takes you to the Gould Rim Trail (fun as can be!) and then turns into the Gould Trail (also really fun). THen you cross the road over to the JEM Trailhead, follow the JEM to the Hurricane Canal Trail and head back to your car. Nice 21 mile workout! Give yourself a few hours if you want to do the loop. Other recommended trails in the same area: Broken Rim Mesa, Slickrock Swamp, Prospector to Church Rocks, Greenvalley Racetrack.

Cross Country Rider Summary: this is an awesome trail. It is great for beginners and good for experinced riders all depending on which track tou choose. I am an experienced rider and know wher you can catch air so thats where I go . there is a pretty technical section at the beginning of the ride. so walk it if you have to. after that its nothing but a flow ride. just relax and take it in. its just a great trail and I am very lucky to have it be so close to me. Recommended Route: take the highway to fredonia, look for the crumbled pile of rocks on the right. after those about 100 feet take the left. thats all i need to say because it reall self expalitory after after that. Other recommended trails in the same area: hurricane rim, goosbury mesa, green valley loop, barrel roll, church rocks.

Cross Country Rider Summary: I love this trail. It's one of my favorites. I like to go as fast as you can it's like a roller coaster. Close to the end cliff area my favorite part. Just watch out for lizards flying across the trail. Other recommended trails in the same area: Gooseberry Mesa, Hurricane Rim Trail

, from Park City, UT Summary: This is such a fun ride. The JEM trail is a great trail for most all levels of riding. Wy wife takes her time, I see how fast I can ride it. It has great views of open desert, mesa's, river rim's. It is pretty tame for the most part. I have probably ridden this 20 or more times and it is all ways fun. If you want to make this ride a twenty plus miler, go see Vince at Springdale Cycles and have him show you a huge loop into Hurricane and catch up to the single track trail head of the JEM. This ride incorporates the Hurricane Rim trail, I believe. Recommended Route: For a great warm up ride or last ride before heading back home, ride the J.E.M. trail as a loop clockwise. Other recommended trails in the same area: Hurricane Rim and Canal trails
