Ridden Trail: Once a year

Reviewed by: Charles
, from Portland OR Summary: Not an overally hard trail or technical. First half is just climbing on an ATV trail with many stream crossings. Singletrack is short and sweet. Then in mesa area the trail goes up and down near a creek. Once your on the second half os Castro, it is all downhill on a fast ATV trail. The views are awesome. It felt I was in the middle of Bryce Canyon. A good ride for intermediate riders who loves a good climb and great views Recommended Route: Take Hwy 12, get on Castro canyon road north to the trailhead. Go on ATV trail climbing east. Get on singletrack. Get back on Castro Canyon ATV trail then onto Fremont trail heading north. Finally get back on Castro Canyon ATV trail all the way back to your car Other recommended trails in the same area: Thunder Mountain, Green Valley Loop

, from Flat Rock, NC Summary: Mellow, easy trail, with some climbing, some technical spots. Beautiful views of sandstone canyon. Coming back is just enough downhill to make it a blast! For more adventure, cross the road, and try Thunder Mountain Recommended Route: Starting from parking lot, this is an out and back trail. 5.5 miles one way, crosses a dry stream bed repeatedly. Avoid when wet. Just Plain Fun! Other recommended trails in the same area: Thunder Mountain (great) Losee Canyon, Cassidy Trail
