Cross Country Rider Summary: Great ride for a 1st timer to Moab. If your thinking about riding Slick Rock and are not sure, this is a good taste of what to expect. Ive been going to Moab for the last 5 years. This has always been my 1st ride of the trip. Mostly because I drive from SO. CAL. during the night and arrive in Moab about noon, then hit this trail. It is a good warm up to what the rest of the trip has in store, and after driveing all night I'm usually too tired & cross eyed to ride anything else. This trail can be as easy or difficult as you make it. This is why I only rated it 3 chili's Recommended Route: Follow the Rider Mel's Book. That book is the BIBLE for Moab. Other recommended trails in the same area: Porcupine Rim, Behind the Rocks (24 hour race course)

Weekend Warrior Summary: Big slickrock area that you can just explore. If you go when it is hot, it seemed to me that the slickrock just amplified the heat so that is a downside, but other than that it is a ton of fun. The difficulty is as hard or as easy as you want to make it. Recommended Route: Just find the place and explore.

Weekend Warrior Summary: Remember riding a skate park on your bmx for the first time? Never ridden a bmx bike at a skate park? - do this ride. Just a wide open slickrock playground. If you can make it up the rock ramp at the trailhead, make sure you buddies see you do it or they won't believe you. Great intro to slickrock, I rode this the day before I rode the Slickrock Trail and felt totally comfortable on the world famous trail. A must ride if you're in Moab for a couple of days. The ratings can be a little misleading, because this ride can be as easy or as hard as you make it. I gave it an easy aerobic and difficult technical score, but someone else may give it the opposite depending on the lines you pick. Recommended Route: Like the review below says, buy Rider Mel's guide to Moab, his directions got me there with no problem Other recommended trails in the same area: Slickrock

Weekend Warrior Summary: Good warm-up for other Slick Rock rides in the area. Nothing technical if you exclude the "hike-a-bike" up to the trail. One nice picture opportunity on a huge "gulley" down carved out of the middle of the rock right near the end of the trail. Worth doing as the first trail in the area. Recommended Route: Buy "Rider Mel's" guide to Moab. His directions to trail head were easy to follow. Other recommended trails in the same area: Amasa Back

Weekend Warrior Summary: I also had a little trouble finding this place, even with a map. Once there it was not totally clear were to go. Some hiking trails split off a road so I was not sure which to take. I first followed the road and it seemed to be a 4-wheeler road. I then split off on one of the trails and onto the slickrock. It was fun riding, but I never felt like I was on some kind for route with a particular destination. I did not see any mad half pipes, just rolling slick rock. I'll be back soon to try this again. Recommended Route: That's the problem here. Other recommended trails in the same area: Harrahs Pass, Gemini Bridges, Klondike Bluffs (did the Bluffs get turned into a parking lot in the Hulk movie?)
