Clarks Creek

3 of 5
Clarks creek is new to MTB's. Fun, single and double trails with several creek crossings. 3% grades in most areas with some areas of increased inclines. Trail is mixed with areas of smooth dirt/grass, and rock. Beautiful views of the creek with small waterfalls. Trail would benifit from some care from the Northeast Tennessee Mountain Bike Association.
Directions: From Jonesborough, take Hwy 181 south to Hwy 107. Turn right, travel approx. 5 miles to Clarks Creek Rd on left. From Greeneville take Hwy 107 toward Erwin. After entering Washington County, travel about 4 miles to Clarks Creek Rd. on the right. From both directions, follow Clarks Creek Rd until you enter the park area. Follow dirt road for approx. Two (2) miles until the road ends. Trail head is directly ahead across creek.
Summary: Clarks creek is loads of fun, and challenging to us new comers to the sport. Creek crossings need to be reworked for eaiser crossings. One large tree over trail at the beginning, but hopefully after time, and permission we can build a bike bridge over this. Forest service downed tree to keep out 4x4's. Trail is also used by horse riders. Aerobic is nice and well balenced. I placed the tech. a little higher because of the creek crossings.
Recommended Route: As of now there's only one route in and out. At the end of the road, park and the trail head is across the creek.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Buffalo Mtn. Widow maker, the Chute.
