Weekend Warrior Summary: this is a nice trail when its not a mud bog, although some of us like the mud. the course is pretty smooth with a few hills thrown in for fun. very shady and cool. the course can be ridden clockwise or counterclockwise with counterclockwise being a little faster. the trail is twisty and has some blind turns so you have to be careful. Recommended Route: counterclockwise is a little faster. my personal best is 21 minutes but yesterday on a very dry trail my son ripped it up in 15 min and 57 seconds he races sport category in xc mtn bike racing.

Cross Country Rider Summary: Harrison Bay is a great training ride. Watch for other riders and runners coming the opposite direction. There are some really blind turns. I heard one guy say it was like road racing on a trail. It's smooth and non-technical but there are some rooty sections. Best time is 16:20 after one or two good warm up laps. Fun trail. Free on Wednesdays and $3.00 other times. Trail is maintained by the park service and Chattanooga SORBA. Be sure to support them both. Recommended Route: counterclockwise Other recommended trails in the same area: edwards point, Tanasi, Chilhowee

, from Jawja Summary: Well unfortunately I rode two laps counterclockwise and then timed myself clockwise. Going "balls to the wall" I made it around, big ring all the way, in just under 18 minutes. I had to deal with a lot of oncoming traffic, and passed one rider and a couple hiking. I'd like to come out in the winter on a weekday when there is sure to be NO ONE around, and now that I know the trail better, I know I could do it much faster. I've thought that NORBA should do some shorter course races, and this would be the shit! It's kinda like Tsali Jr.! I rate it four wheelies cuz of the weekend traffic. Recommended Route: I preferred counter-clockwise (it's faster). Clockwise gives you a couple of very short, out-of-saddle pushes when you are in the big ring and timing yourself. Other recommended trails in the same area: Edwards Point, Prentice Cooper.
