Cross Country Rider Summary: Really nice ride with some climbs, rolling hills. The advanced section should not be missed. Don't let the 'advanced' rating scare you...it is not difficult. There is one 2 foot or so rock dropoff near the start of the section but it is very doable. BSF management should be applauded for having mountain bike trails. Most national park areas do not. Recommended Route: clockwise Other recommended trails in the same area: Grand Gap

Weekend Warrior Summary: Excellent trail....I'd recommend taking the advanced section of the trail, though. Been on this trail several times and I've found taking the "easier" fork in the trail is rather boring. If you have a cheap bike with no suspension like mine, or aren't keen on rough riding, you may have to get off and walk down one large drop off and a couple of really steep climbs on the advanced section. The rest is a piece of cake. My 11 year old hated the advanced portion (he's one of those not too keen on rough riding)), but my 13 year old and I loved it. Recommended Route: West entrance parking area if you're not camping at Bandy Creek. Otherwise, you'll have to endure a 1 1/2 mile climb back up a gravel road to get back to the Bandy Creek campgound/parking area.

, from Marietta Summary: Really easy trail with no major obstacles, good trail for advanced beginner or intermediate rider ,a so so down hill at the end of the loop kinda short but a fun ride nice area but better for hiking and horse back riding than mountain biking. Recommended Route: Go left at the start of the loop section . Other recommended trails in the same area: other trails close by are very sandy ,better for horses.Go to Chilowee or Tsali much better riding.

, from Oneida, TN Summary: Collier Ridge is a very nice ride, particularly if you ride the "advanced" section. Don't be put off -- it's really not that hard. On the loop there are some nice creek crossings, a few steep hills, fast downhill, and twisty singletrack. Classic eastern singletrack, in fact. If you combine Collier Ridge with the Duncan Hollow and West Bandy bike trails -- all three can be linked up by horse trails -- you have a nice half-day ride. Talk to the Park Service folks at the Bandy Creek visitor center for info on these other trails. Also, these three bike trails are basically "in shape" year round. Other recommended trails in the same area: Big South Fork has a few other worthy rides, and there are other excellent, "local knowledge" trails in the Oneida area, including at the airport and at Royal Blue wildlife area. Great stuff...

Ridden Trail: Every few months

, from Knoxville, TN Summary: Do NOT park in the Bandy visitor area. Why? Because you'll have to endure 3 miles with mouthful of gravel dust and a bike covered with fine slippery powder just to get to the trailhead. Instead, park at the West entrance of Bandy Creek off 297W and enter from that side. The trail however rocks. Nice stream crossings and good single track. Be sure to do the Labor Day race portion of the trail. Recommended Route: From Knoxville, Take I-75N to 297W into BSFNRRA. Other recommended trails in the same area: North White Oak Overlook
