Summary:
Excellent workout all around. I'm more of a singletrack fan in general, but enjoy Norris more and more every time I ride it. Lots of different loops to combine for a quick after-work ride, or an all-day exploration.

Recommended Route:
Straight up High Point trail to the top of the hill! After that last painful climb, take a right to continue down HP - super fast steady downhill with lots of water bars to get plenty of air on. Left to the lakeside loop (watch out for hidden holes when the trail is leafy!) back up to high point, then left down red hill to raccoon run for more speed. Bust ass back down to the parking lot....

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Haw Ridge, Panther Creek, IC King

Summary:
Norris is a great ride for all and the views are awsome, I am a beginning rider who rides with some bad-A mtbs and there is something for all. Killer climbs, supperfast down hill, and some switchbacks that you will meet yourself on. It is a great mix of single track, double track, fire, logging and gravel roads. There is alot of kick ass single track, but you need to ride with someone who knows the trails to find all of them because some are not marked well. If you want a great work out this is the place, The uphills will burn so good but the down hill A-hauling and jumps makes up for it. Oh yeah, watch out for the horses they like the single track trails.

Recommended Route:
Just ask some local riders, about the observation point, ridge crest, white pines. The best place to get information about riding in Knoxville is Harpers Bike shop, they have contact information of people who ride alot and are glad to help.

Good workout in the uphill climb. Perfect for those rainy times where leaves might be an issue you might not want to address that day.

Summary:
Norris consists of mostly fire/gravel road. Many of the reviews comment on the lack of technical single track. They fail to mention, however, what an excellent work-out Norris' long, steep uphills offer. Part of Mountain biking involves climbing steep, challenging hills. If you are not in very good shape than Norris is not the place for you. If you are looking for advanced single track Norris is also not the place for you.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
For a great quad and aerobic workout, keep it out of granny gear and climb the hills of Norris!
