Ridden Trail: Every few months

Cross Country Rider Summary: Good moderately technical workout as you climb up to the ridgeline that offers fantastic views of the top of Buffalo Mtn, Cherokee Mtn, Johnson City, and Beauty Spot. The downhill on the orange/blue ATV trail is a blast..steep in some areas, technical in just a few spots, can get VERY fast if you dare. If you endo, there likely will be an ATV rider come by in due time to drag what's left of you off the mtn. ;) Recommended Route: As described by the poster. Other recommended trails in the same area: Head down I-26 into NC and ride the trails of Colemans Boundary in Barnardsville. Downhills there will make the very best rider endo.

, from Johnson City TN Summary: Just recently rode this trail for the first time. Not much to say that hasn't been said in the other reviews, except that it appears they have repainted all the blue trail markers with orange. You can see a little bit of blue paint underneath the orange. I thought I had made some wrong turns before that little discovery!

, from G'ville, SC (Org. Erwin, TN) Summary: I love the awesome downhills this area has to offer. I always look forward to feeling the burn in my thighs because the downhills are so worth it. One thing though, be prepared to get WAY over your back seat in some areas and use only the rear break. There's one particular area that I've heard called "The Chute" that's pretty steep and very long. Watch out for leaves in the winter/spring months. They cover some hidden rocks. There's also a cool technical rock garden on one other trail. My hands actually hurt/ache, from gripping the bar/breaks after I ride this area. It's just so different from the sweet singletrack I've been riding on for the last couple of years. I've ridden here once at night (last year)and there was about 4 inches of snow on the ground. What an experience...it was great! Recommended Route: From Erwin, take Hwy. 107 towards Jonesborough. Follow the brown ATV signs and that will get you there. Be careful of leaving anything of value in your car if you park in the paved lot. Other recommended trails in the same area: Any and all trails in the Buffalo Mtn. area.

, from Elizabethton Summary: If there were an ideal training ground for a pro MTN. biker this would be it. This is Easst Coast riding at its best. Here you'll find Roots, Rocks, Mud, anything you can handle. And lots of things you cant. Some of the uphills are a little hard. Try the Root I suggested but be careful and have some good brakes. Make sure you can clip out of your pedals easily. You'll bail out at least twice. Do not listen to the punk that said this is for begginers, there are a lot of technical things to beware of here. If you live around it there is no excuse not to be riding here. Recommended Route: Ride all the way to the top. Come out where you are in between 2 impossible Downhills, take the hardest slope. Carry your bike and then get on the small trail on the right marked with Red paint on the trees. Its an ATV trail Other recommended trails in the same area: Go to Dennis Cove in Hampton, TN and just find something to do?
