Weekend Warrior Summary: Great example of a trail that crams a lot into a small amount of acreage. Blue trail is a great warm up, pretty level with some twists and turns to get the blood pumping. Red then takes it up a notch. Nasty stream crossing that I have yet to navigate and some increased elevation changes. Things go up another notch with the yellow. Twisty, leaf covered, dips and lots of up and down. Once you master it one way, reverse course for a completely different trail. Mixing up the order also gives the ride a totally different feel. Kudos to the team that built and maintains this park. I ride it 3 times a week or more if possible. Recommended Route: Recommend Blue to Red Back to Blue for short piece and then to Yellow for a great finish Other recommended trails in the same area: Stanky Creek (when dry), Tour de Wolf, Herb (Poision Ivy) Parsons - would like some more in the north memphis area

Cross Country Rider Summary: Yes people this trail is challenging for Memphis anyway. Forget wat they all said about shouldering the bike for the creek crossing. We ride it at night both ways unless its full of water. Other recommended trails in the same area: Stanky

Weekend Warrior Summary: The yellow trail rocks. Plenty of ups and downs. Fallen leaves make spotting the next turn a little sketchy at speed, but I guess that's to be expected this time of year. My only complaint is the lack of a bridge at the red trail. It gives me the willies to have to get off my bike and possibly disturb some cottonmouth or copperhead while walking the bank and hopping to the sandbar to get across. I know it costs money, but a bridge would make it so nice. Recommended Route: Any route is fine. Yellow route makes me a little winded, red and blue routes are pretty leisurely. Other recommended trails in the same area: Tour De Wolf (cool), Stanky Creek (cooler)

, from Lakeland Summary: Forget the tour de Wolfe at Shelby Farms! This trail is more challenging and you won't have to dodge 50 other hikers and bikers while you run it. From the back of the lake you can catch either the RED, BLUE or Yellow trail. RED and BLUE are pretty tame, but they are getting quite grown over(I guess not too many people are using these this year). Yellow trail is great. It's a good 4 miles with lots of challanging switch backs with uphill climbs over exposed root systems. Trail is very easy to follow. A beginner can do this trail if they take their time and are ready to walk over some of the obstacles. Difficulty increases as you pick up the pace due to the switchbacks, roots and narrow openings between and under trees. Trail is very greasy and difficult after a rain. A couple obstacles require good speed and the willingness to get airborn to cross on wheel(then get ready to slam the breaks to make the next turn!) If you don't come away with your heart racing, legs burning and brow sweating after this one...you're not pushing it, so watch out behind you for someone coming by who is. Recommended Route: From I40 exit at Canada rd and go North about 2-3 miles. You will see a sign designating the park entrance which is on the Left. Ride around the park building on the road to it's end.
