the trails are really easy and not technical, but they are fast and fun, and offer a few climbs that get your heart pumping. there is one great downhill that goes by the river.
off of 75/40, get on pellissippi parkway and head towards alcoa and the airport. get off on the northshore drive exit and turn right. go for a few miles, until you see concord park. it is right after the golf course, and there is a big parking lot on the right visible from the road. also, there are tennis courts across the street. park in the lot, and the trail is up to the right by the fence. it says eagles nest trail. its a loop. there is also a trail across the parking lot, that simply opens into the forest. it is not marked, so just ride across the little driveway road that brought you in, and ride at the edge of that forest until you find it.
Summary: Great single track for a city ride. Not a destination. Would not call it beginner (the beginners I have taken did not have much fun) but definitely not technical. There are few climbs the long ones not much more than a hundred yards. The east loops are the best by far with new trails being put in all the time (I would say 10 miles or more on the east side). Beautiful in the fall with some nice trail along the ridge. Reasonable old hardwood forest, if you are lucky you may run across some dear.
Watch out for dogs as people don't usually keep them on their leashes. I was bit once, but that dog was on a leash.
P.S. A 3ft drop has just been added, there seems to be new stuff almost every time I go. The new additions seem to be much faster with more banking etc.
Recommended Route: East side, don't bother with the west
Other recommended trails in the same area: I.C. King, don't worry about the queens.

Summary: Concord is a great beginner trail system due to the short main loop and beginner to intermediate side trails. This is a great place to get your "trail legs" if your toughest riding experience thus far has been uneven asphalt on the Greenway. If you have mechanical difficulties, you will have a relatively short walk out regardless of where you are on the trail. It does offer more challenging trails if you deviate from the main loop, and you can explore cement bag and plank bridges, natural rock technical sections by the lake, and a few good rollercoaster hill sections near the maintenance plant access road. It's a good hour-burner, but for those seeking a longer ride, it's worth the drive to Haw Ridge as most loops in Concord end in 30-45 minutes including the 2-3 mile loop across the road from the golf course. Then again, you can combine loops and ride all day. It's up to your preference.
The trails are usually well maintained, but you may find yourself tearing through very narrowly cleared sections of undergrowth every now and then. Due to it's very close proximity to the residential areas of Northshore and Westland Drive, you will undoubtedly come into contact with people and dogs walking the trails. You can still enjoy the fast downhills, but just be aware of your surroundings and share the trail. Similar to Haw Ridge, based on water levels in the lake, some shore trails may be a little wet.
Recommended Route: Make one full circuit of the main trail to get your bearings, and then second time around as you descend into the 90 degree turn going back uphill, you will see an inlet from the lake. Take a left over the ledge and follow the trail to the right. It will eventually spit you back out on the main trail about 300 yards uphill from where you dropped over the ledge. It's a good 30 minute weave up and down the valleys with a few long climbs and technical downhill switchbacks. You can do this in reverse by continuing up the main trail just before the steep uphill portion. Take the trail to the left where the marker is.
Same ledge drop mentioned above, take the left loop across the cement bags for some fun single track. Be careful, as the trails are fairly new here and the trail edges can be a little soft sometimes on the decents.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Haw Ridge, I.C. King (trails are fair but technical area in parking lot is great)

Summary: Great trails!
Small, easily navigable series of loops, all unmarked for an adventurous "find it youself" deal, but your won't get lost, because they all come back to the easy main loop.
A few of the trails get pretty technical, with some steep, narrow, and curvy parts. But all the trails are a blast even if there aren't very many.
Recommended Route: Pull into the main parking lot and go through the gate in the fence next to the golf course up into the woods. Start on the main loop but go off onto the smaller trails comming off of it. just ride around the hill for a while until you get in all the trails.
The trails that go along the lake are the most fun and the most difficult

Summary: Love the trail, its incredible! there are some trails that arent that much fun, but besides that they are wonderful.
Recommended Route: Do not take the main loop! Start yourt way up the hill and take a left and go all the way down and take the first left on the trail. Follow it all the way through. Come out on the loop.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Haw Ridge in Oak Ridge, Tn. Windrock is cool. Norris is also a great ride.

Summary: Young trail system that is always growing. Some of the new trails are fun and a little more technical than the main wide loop. No drops but there are still fun moderately hard sections. Both the loop by the golf course and the one across the road are fun the latter being slightly more difficult. Over the past two years there has been several trails added.
Recommended Route: Its kinda small so take them all. I like the one by the golf course and just turn right as many times as you can.
Other recommended trails in the same area: haw ridge
