Cross Country Rider Summary: Trail is short but fun. Don't drive to Rock Island specifically for this trail but if in the area bring your bike. If there are no hikers you can really let loose and fly on this trail but have to do multiple loops for a decent workout. If you want to get a tough workout do a loop and then ride the road down to the swimming area and climb back up, STEEP.
Recommended Route: Fun either direction. Other recommended trails in the same area: Fall Creek Falls trails.

, from Cookevill Summary: Short trail. The single track is good. Not very technical. There is a lot of potential here though. I figured it was at least 3.0 miles. Riding it a few times will get you warmed up good. I wouldn't spend much time on this trail. Leave it for the beginners and the nature lovers. Work on the Amplitheater trail and develop it into an awesome ride for the advanced. Recommended Route: Located about 25 miles from Cookeville. Take 111 south through Sparta and toward McMinnville. Turn right when you see the Rock Island sign (just past the second bridge you pass over). Stop at the check-in to get a map of the entire area.

, from McMinnville Summary: Nice, well gromed trail. This trail is 2.5-3.0 miles long. Has short sections of single track, with longer flat sections along the river. Nice trail to take a beginner or go as fast as you can to get a work out. It is a bit short. If I had to drive over 25 miles to this trail, which I dont, I would be disapointed.

, from Mc Minnville Summary: This is an Ok trail, a bit short for my taste. Great Location if you're familiar with Rock Island, it needs lots more miles. They say its 4-5 miles, but to me it seems shorter. Other recommended trails in the same area: None, but I'm still searching...

, from McMinnville,TN. U.S.A. Summary: I live about 10 mins. from Rock Island State PArk where this trail is located at. I love this trail! Not very technical at the start of it but at the last mile it gets knarly. Depending where you start at it usually goes downhill first (SWEET!) then you climb back up (ROUGH! GOOD WORK OUT THOUGH!). I have ridden it in every season. You can even meet a few deer. Come and drop on by. Very few people use this trail (LOCALS ONLY SO FAR). Oh and here is a nice bonus... if you have seen the movie "The Specialist" with Sylvester Stallone and Sharon (BABE!) Stone; at the beginning of the movie where Stallone's character jumps of a bridge ( it really is a dam) the trail gors right beside that bridge! Cool huh!
