Summary:
Well it looks like Our bike trail is going to be closed for sewer work this summer which is a inconvenience for Me. Being as I use it for transportation as much a recreation. Oh well I was planning to tour this summer anyways, this meens I'll be learning the bike lanes.

Well i hate to say this but in SD theres all these narly sweet mountains and great huge trails... oh wait im in the plains oh well, this is the only trail around but it is paved but in about a 6 mile long park theres some okay off-trails nothing to extreme but its fun. i would recomend falls park to freeride i do alot. I wouldnt come here just to ride the trail but if you need something to do when your here come and visit it it is aprx 21 miles long. nothing to break a sweat to but its enjoyable.

Who put this paved trail on Mtbr.com? I thought it was a mountain bike website.

Recommended Route:
Drive to the nearest singletrack instead.

This trail is KILLER...I can't believe how much it rips...I even saw a couple dudes doing it in ROLLERBLADES...that's KORE. There is switchbacks, kind of, rollers, not really and water fountains every 4 miles...I think every trail should be paved...this is such a great IDEA. Take the wife and kid carrier and try to dodge all the retarded "mountain bikers" on their base-model Gary Fishers they bought from Scheel's 4 years ago and still haven't gotten them dirty...FYI "mountain bike retards" or
"retards on road bikes" when we real Mt. bikers pass you we always say "ON YOUR LEFT", or "ON YOUR RIGHT"....not "Look out with that trailer, dude"...for real I'm pulling my kid and my wife is in front of me with her dirty Specialized, and some jackoff flys by and says, "look out with the trailer"...sorry I didn't have eyes in the back of my head so I could get out of your way...oh yeah, and if this is you reading this...my wife says you looked like a queer in the tights.

That pretty much covered today for Me, I lmost Whiped out a tandem bike passing a jogger. Otta the corner of My eye I swear I saw the missing link in a clown suit riding a trike.

Summary:
bike trails - pretty boring, but if you are trying to get in shape its a great ride. For a little fun I usually ride up the street to tut hill. Its fun to ride down the hill as fast as you can or take the side trail (with a 2 foot dropoff, on a trail which slopes probably 40 degrees), other then that I wouldnt recommend it unless you want to go for a boring joyride along the dirty river or you need to get some exercise.

There is also some loopy trails with some downhill action and some jumps as well. To get there Go to joe foss (3rd and cliff ave) Go one block east, and travel north all the way to the dead end, hop on the trail, go east till you enter "the bull" which is mainly used for motorcycles and atv's but you can have a little fun here.

Also would recommend the falls park if you like to do any freeriding (i know its lame, but this part of the country sucks anyway so you're already used to it) A few 3 foot ledges from the granite, also some 4-10 feet drop offs if you wanna go crazy.

Recommended Route:
I like to get on at 12th in cliff area by the river ride to tut and then backtrack all the way to the falls park

I had alot of fun, Tony blogged;
The zenith of a dump truck site, thats basically how it was made, it consists of two medium sized dirt mounds with trails running everywhere in between and a riser.(elementry singletrack) Only downside is 'the Bull" left its horns everywhere and the place is infested/overunn with kindling its kindof a dumpsite for the area, *dont go out here at night if your willing to risk your derailer You'll get Your fill!
