Cross Country Rider Summary: Not a bad trail for beginners or someone looking to get a quick fix. They are short loops (1-1.5 miles). Not very technical but it has a couple of hills that will give you some exercise. Recommended Route: Loop around the hiking trail and the main trail, either way will work Other recommended trails in the same area: Beaver Creek Nature Area, Union Grove State Park.

Weekend Warrior Summary: Close prox. to SF is a bonus, but the trail could use some work. The big hill climb is a decent workout, but easily manageable. The topography out there would be excellent for more trails. If we could get some people together to carve more trails out there, we should; it could have some kicka*s trails with a little work. Recommended Route: I recommend the lower loop first (marked on the signs as the hiking trail) for a warmup, then hit the big hill, down through the meadow, hit the archery range, then the hiking trail again for fun. Have no idea how long, but I'm pretty sure it's shorter than seven miles. Almost no singletrack-which is why it needs work. Other recommended trails in the same area: Newton Hills is way more fun, but almost a 30 minute drive. With some work, brandon could be as fun easily.

Weekend Warrior Summary: Perfect Distance...If you live in the Sioux Falls "METRO" this is a great spot to hit. Just outside of Brandon and has some real good spots...there is one killer climb that will test you or leave you breathless. The rest of the trail is good, the lower loop has a couple of sketchy log bridges that are slick in the morning...this is a horse trail as well, but not a lot of people on horses use it...the area also has a archery course on it, which I have never seen used either...just don't get shot and it's a good ryde>>> Recommended Route: Take the big hill first and the rest is up and down...save the lower loop for the end...it can be fast and fun...air included! Other recommended trails in the same area: Newton Hills...Hole in the Hill Ski Area, East of Brookings.
