Ridden Trail: Once a year

Weekend Warrior Summary: Pretty fun trail. Like most Black hills rails there are some major uphills and some major downhills. We started behind the school house and the trail was almost all uphill until the Lover's Leap sign then gradually went down. Some really cool stream crossings and some really fast sections. Might be better taking the trail from the campground back toward the school. Going up the hill we noticed some really cool parts if were traveling the other way. Seems by the marker it can be rode both ways. Not altogether technical compared to other trails but fun non the less. Took us around 1 1/2 hours at a fairly casual pace. Some of the uphills will be a bike hike and some of the downhils are hair raisers. It is in Custer Park and will need to get park pass to ride, but well worth it with the other trails in the area close by. Recommended Route: We started at the school and ended at the campground which was a short ride back to the school. It was fun with the majority of the start uphill. Some stream crossings on the way down. Maybe just as fun if not more taking it the other way with some fun looking down hills. Your choice. Other recommended trails in the same area: Stockade lake trail is close. It is a trail that is kinda forgotten in Custer. Worth the ride up for the ride down. Just get used to liking rocks. ANy trail in the BH is worth the time.
