Summary:
My wife told me that we were going to North Myrtle Beach for a vacation. We brought our bikes but Vereen Gardens was the only thing close. It's only beginner (which is what my wife is) but it was pretty and ends down on Little River with some bridges going out over the marsh land to some outer islands. There were also some adult swings under trees with beautiful views and a small intimate picnic area. It was beautiful and we loved it.

There were a few intermediate areas but less than a 100 feet long. A few bridges and if you look hard enough, you'll find the Vereen cemetery with one tombstone indicating the person was born in 1675.

The other reviews mentioned "strange guys" sitting around on park benches. I was worried that it might be a gay meeting park with activity in the bushes, but it's just retired people who come and walk the trails until they need to sit down. Had a great time because my wife loved it and it helped burn off some margaritas I ingested the nights before.

Summary:
Good for newbies. A lot of exposed roots which either makes you pick your lines or want full suspension. A couple gulleys and at least one two-foot drop where you could easily go over the front.

I've never seen another mountain biker there. Lots of shady-looking guys sitting at the picnic tables or in there cars. Hmmm...

Recommended Route:
None, but I'd love to hear if anyone's ever mapped out the entire place.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
That's funny.

Summary:
Its OK at best, not technical and sandy, typical of the area. But for around here it isnt bad. There should be a group ride w/ all these people riding around here. Could do a race of some sort just to make it interesting.

Recommended Route:
Left side of the road has a few "techincal" sections that make it somewhat interesting. Anyway you go you'll always end up on the same route.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
C-town has some decent stuff.
M.B. SUCKS for mountain biking!

Summary:
WARNING! Someone has gone in and removed most of the roots on this trail. Unfortunately, that means massive erosion. This trail is mainly sandy and washed out. I've riden this trail for five years and this is the worst I've seen it. We've installed some water bars but it hasn't helped too much. This trail was always pretty easy but its a shame to see it so messed up 'cause its all we have in the area. We'll continue to try and fix what's left. sand 95%, hardpack 5%

Other recommended trails in the same area:
i've heard stuff about the mb air base but I haven't been there.
