Cross Country Rider Summary: This trail is very fast, very easy and very fun. However... not technical at all... my girlfriend who's never rode more than 7 miles here in the upstate rode 20 on our first visit to this trail (we did Brown Wave and Great Wall) .... The "dangerous" section is a joke.... Yes, it's a double that you could hurt yourself on, but most people aren't going to even attempt it. I've seen much worse on most other trails I've rode.
Although this trail is fast and fun, riding here will in no way condition you for racing. Most of the race courses in the southeast are night and day more technical, with much steeper climbs and significantly more trail obstacles.
Overall it's a great play ride, good for beginners and people that just need to crank out some miles.
Recommended Route: Brown wave was really good CCW, Great wall would have been better CW...

Racer Summary: FAST FAST FAST ! If you like going fast down hill , you will love this trail ! My average speed was between 30--35 ! Lota air ! This trail had less mud holes than the other FATS trails . Whoever built the FATS trails used the sustainable formula percentages perfectly on Great Wall . Very Fun Fast with lots of sharpe turns , Awesome trail . One problem is that Fats is getting so crowded now , you have to be on the lookout for riders coming in your direction . Had some very close calls at fast down hill speeds on Great Wall . This trail will need to go "odd--even" days directional at some point to keep from someone like myself from getting hurt real bad ! Recommended Route: Ride this trail counter-clock wise . Faster this way with a nice up hill burn at the end .Make sure to check your bike for lose screws before you ride this trail . Other recommended trails in the same area: Big Rock , Tower ,Old Bartram Trail, Turkey Creek , Hickory Knob State Park .

Cross Country Rider Summary: Great trail with the most variety of the FATS trail. Fun whoops, jumps and dips. Several short steep climbs. My 3rd favorite behind Brown Wave and Deep step in that order

Weekend Warrior Summary: Definately some of the best trails I've ridden! I'd put these up there with Pisgah, NC in level of fun, just different. You should enjoy air time to really enjoy these trails, as they all have opportunity for spills if you're timid about leaving the ground. I rode them all (over 20 miles) simply because I couldn't stop myself. They are all off of a short connector trail from the parking lot, so I went back to the truck after each loop to get more water and GUs. A 70oz CamelBak is more than enough. I saw lots of folks on single speeds. The little amount of climbing is easy. NOT beginner trails! Ride safe and within your ability. Recommended Route: ALL. My "Difficulty" ratings are 3s because I don't feel they're difficult at all for the average athletic rider. That's not to say I wasn't completely beat up by the end, I was, but that was from the way we attacked the trails. Overall rating is a 5 because they were a blast! Very clean, fast rolling trails. I'll be a regular there.
