Ridden Trail: Once a week

Cross Country Rider Summary: I ride this trail at least once a week because it's only 7 miles from my house. There are a few fire roads but it's mostly singletrack. Around the 3 mile mark, there's a set of "whoop-de-doos" where you can pick up some decent speed. In my opinion, the trail seems faster/more fun to ride clockwise. There are plenty of sections where you can "floor it", but keep an eye out for the sand.:) There's a few nice climbs as well. Don't take my ratings too seriously as this is the only dedicated bike trail I've ridden so far. Recommended Route: US-1 South

Cross Country Rider Summary: Rode this trail this weekend. This is a fun trail. Drove down from Charlotte to ride, our trails are wet from the snow and ice. It was incredibly dry at this trail. Great singletrack, you can really carry some speed. The 5 dollar fee was a little much but all in all I really enjoyed myself. Excellant place for a Single Speed. I didn't have enough time to do this trail and the one that is south of Patrick, but you can bet next time I'll get 2 laps at both places. Great job to the trail-workers. Some areas were even raked. Watch the marks on the trees, its easy to miss turns and get off the trail if at cruising speed.

, from Florence, South Carolina Summary: This is a fun Trail - Challenging in places. A much better ride than Harbison, and in better shape than Sandhills. All this trail needs is more riders. This is a good trail for beginners and experienced bikers, but beginners should take it easy the first couple of rides. Helmet, glasses and plenty of water are a must.

, from Cheraw,SC,USA Summary: Me and a friend built this trail about 4 years ago. It's getting there, slowly but surely. It's in good shape right now, fast & furious. It's a 9.3 mile loop and more clearly marked in a clockwise direction. After you learn the trail it is also fun to ride backwards. I've tried to start marking the trail so it will be easier to ride in this direction. This trail is Free to ride. I think anyone can ride this trail but newcomers should take it easy until they learn the trail, there are some sections that are fast and tight, I've smacked a couple trees and they seem to be stronger than me & my bike :-) Helmets & Eye Protection are a must. Cheraw State Park also has an excellent golf course, cabins, and camping area. Recommended Route: Approx. 2-3 miles south of Cheraw on Hwy.#1, or 6 miles north of Patrick, look for Auction Barn Road & Bike Trail Sign, parking lot 1/4 mile on left. Other recommended trails in the same area: There is a very good trail about 3-4 miles south of Patrick also on Hwy.#1. The entrance is across the highway from the Sandhills State Forest Headquarters, you must buy a day pass or yearly pass from them to ride.

, from Charlotte Summary: This is a great alternate when other places are too wet or muddy. Not very technical, but still interesting. Sandy soil makes for slightly increased workout. I think the lower pressure allowed by tubless tires is a great benefit here. Take the clockwise route to use the blue blazes on trees as a guide to the route. Recommended Route: Hwy 9 to US1 South - at about 2 miles turn Right on Auction Barn Rd. Look for parking area 1/4 mi on left.
