Ridden Trail: Once a year

Weekend Warrior Summary: I hadn't ridden this trail in quite a while and the fact that Clemson had a home game kept me from driving through town to Issaqueena. The trail is in okay shape, but quite a few fallen (and un-rideable I might add) trees need to be taken care of. It's being ridden, but mostly by horses. The trail is slower than I would like it because of the sand, but that's only in certain spots. It's a nice quick ride, but I wouldn't go out of my way to ride it when Issaqueena is just a few minutes up the road. There are quite a lot or large roots as well, so balance and/or speed is important to get through without stalling. Recommended Route: From the parking area, ride about 150 yards down the fire road and you will see the trail stake on your right; enter here. Mostly you following the single track until you come back to the fire road (approximately 3.5 miles). From here you can take a right and go down to the point on Lake Hartwell or take the fire road to your left back up to the parking lot. There is also more single track directly across from you that will loop you all the way back to the parking lot. We didn't take that route so I can't comment on that section of trail. Other recommended trails in the same area: Issaqueena; that's pretty much it!

, from Rochester, PA USA Summary: While visiting friends, I road all over these trails for half a day, along the lake, up and across the gravel road (Orchard Road) on both sides as well as the other side of Twin Lakes Road. Never really found a good loop, but then never ran into a local, or anyone for that matter. These trails are not technical and with no real climbs -- I am not sure if I ever get of off your bike, -- I am used to Western PA which is relatively hilly, rocky, and rooty with tree falls. But then, the lake scenery is nice and the trail is fast. I hope the locals appreciate what they have here (same for Isaqueena). It makes a nice after-work or quick weekend ride if you just want to get out. It is also good for beyond-the-basics beginners. I'll ride this, and Isaqueena when I'm back in the area. It gets 4 tires for the scenery and trail condition, 3 tires since it is not a great workout or a fulfilling ride if you like the technical stuff. Recommended Route: Find a local to layout a loop for you, if one is possible. Other recommended trails in the same area: Isaqueena including Wildcat (Dalton)

, from clemson Summary: Some of the most technical trails in the area. not a lot of long climbs. Most of it is maintaining momentum through the hill. There are a lot of roots and rocks. It seems the trail is out to get you, so be careful. Recommended Route: first trail to the right is the most riden, and one of the best. There is also a trail to the left of the parking area that you can follow around the lake. Other recommended trails in the same area: If you don't like rough riding with roots, rocks and the occassional horse, then I recommend Issaquenna.

, from clemson, sc Summary: went down the road and to the left around the lake. didn't really enjoy it to much. a lot of roots and rocks, very tight in some places. all together not really a fast trail. every downhill seemed to end with you picking up your bike and stepping over a downed tree or other impossible obstacle. trail maintenece here is not even considered. only good thing about this one is the fact no one else is out there......wonder why? ;0 Recommended Route: no idea.......newbie @ this one Other recommended trails in the same area: isaqueena is the place to be

, from Hodges, SC Summary: Only ridden this once. Took the first trail to right that went by the lake. Very good riding. Lots of roots, but not very technical. Lots of Thorns in summer. Flatted three different times on this one ride. picked out 9 thorns total. Made for very slow day, but trail was worth it.
