Weekend Warrior Summary: This place has definitely been upgraded since I was last here a few years ago. Nice singletrack, good views. Not very technical, not much climbing. But, easily the best trail in the Charleston area. Other recommended trails in the same area: You have to go to Harbison in Columbia or Killer 3 near Sumter if you want more hills.

Weekend Warrior Summary: The best trail in the Charleston area. Easy to get to and has very well marked trails. The crew that maintains the trails has been hard at work the past couple of weeks. The trail has been improved with several new technical sections that will really test your balance and skill. They have also added a few fun obstacles like log climbs and two teeter-totters. If you are rally looking for some fun stuff make your way over the "the Pit" its off the beaten path of the popular red section, but is well worth the trip. Basically it’s a clay like bowl that has been dug out and now provides several great drop-ins’ and hill climbs. You can get to it by following the red trail until it meets up and runs along the paved sidewalk by the road. When the red trail goes back into the woods go right and follow the trail. Once there you can take another route back to the red trail. If you like to ride through some mud then you have to check out the Amazon section that can be very wet after heavy rains. You should check the trail out several times a month, b/c there are always improvements and new stuff being added. If you see anything in the woods you'd like to see added make a note of it at the trail head, the work crew is always looking for ideas. Recommended Route: The Red trail is by far the most used trail. As stated above make you’re way to "the pit." After you have ridden a few times try mixing things up on the blue trails there are several really good board walks that stretch across the swamps and you can see some good wildlife. Make sure you ride the new stuff. Other recommended trails in the same area: Pretty much the only show in town

Cross Country Rider Summary: This trail is well built and fast for a swamp! Coming from California this trail is a pleasant surprise. It is mostly big ring runnin' through the swamp. I have ridden the perimeter trail, the red one, three times now. It is a good hour grind, quicker if you roll. Not technical at all, though it does challange you to maintain speed running through the multiple curves. Recommended Route: Take the red perimeter trail to get a feel for the place and intersperse your ride with the fire roads and the blue trails. It is impossible to get lost here, just stay on the trails. This is a known alligator and snake area... leave them alone and they will leave you alone! Other recommended trails in the same area: Still looking...

Cross Country Rider Summary: I will admit this is the best trail section in the Charleston area I'm really surprised it does not get more use.
The trails are mostly well defined singletrack with some good attempts at decents and climbs for the area. When your only a few feet above sea level its all you could possibley expect for coastal SC.
I rode the long loop can't exactly recall what color the loop was but it was very well marked but pretty long ride.
If you are planning an after work ride better hump it or ride some of the short cuts.
I will say some of the extended sections are a little hairy, I ran up on a couple of over sized lizards that will make you pucker up around dusk!!!
Great low country tail, many thanks to those who spent time building them.....
I give the trail a 4 because it really is a great trail given the coastal area Recommended Route: Park at trail head and follow outer loop all the way around..... Other recommended trails in the same area: Harbison

Cross Country Rider Summary: This is the closest trail from me house(about 6 mi. away)so I ride it often. Most trails are single track, with a few double track areas in between.A few technical sections that even a novis rider can handle.Lots of bumbs and roots through out all the trails,so a gel seat comes in handy. Some places with mud(depending on the weather),but most areas have boardwalks over them now so if you dont like mud you dont have to ride in it.BUG SPRAY A MUST!! espically between the months of April and Septenmer. The Deer flys are treacherous.Lots of wildlife to see. Recommended Route: Follow signs from I-26 to the NWS (Naval Weapns Station). Once you cross over the railroad tracks to enter the NWS, go about 3 miles and the entrance will be on the left to Marrington Plantation. Other recommended trails in the same area: Manic Monkey ,Hunting Island State park ,Palmetto Trail Lake Moultrie Passage
