Cross Country Rider Summary: This was a great trail for my single speed. Not too many climbs but just enough downhills with some technical stuff thrown in to make it interesting! The trail was in immaculate condition. There was little sand to be seen for most of the ride and there was zero mud two days after an all day soaker. The local trail crew used some really intelligent trail design in addition to some very creative trail markers. One section was full of tight, twisting pseudo-downhill with miniature berms thrown in on the occasional turn. Kind of felt like I was racing BMX again. This is a good trail for beginner riders and seasoned veterans alike. If only the same care was given to the Hardcore trail! Recommended Route: Rode it clockwise and counter...

Weekend Warrior Summary: This is my favorite trail in the area. Lots of different types of terrain.
Not too much climbing though. There seems to be more sand on the trail now than when I first started riding here last fall, I think it might be from all the heavy rain that we have had. I like this trail better than Harbison because you don't have to deal with all the slick tree roots
and kinda gravely tarils. It sucks that you can only ride there on Sundays
during hunting season also. The hardcore trail is good but certain sections of it seem to of used by motorcycles at one time and they are kind of torn up. The campbell pond trail is a nice out and back with some short climbs, about a mile of this trail is on paved road and other sections use the palmetto trail. Recommended Route: K3 loop to the hard core trailhead. Other recommended trails in the same area: Harbison, sesqui (when I'm short on time and want a quick ride), fort jackson palmetto trail (nother great here, but its only a five minute drive away)

Racer Summary: This is the first time I've been to this trail in about 3-4 months. It is was an awesome trail last time I was there but now it's a sand pit and it looks like trail maintenance hasn't been done in a while. There are lots of fallen trees on the trail. I have never done any trail maintenance since I've been riding but I think I'm going to have to round up a posse to clean it up a little. Anyway, I would avoid this trail until it is cleaned up. The sand makes it very sketchy when going fast and this trail is pretty fast for the most part. I'm going to rate this trail good because when it's cleaned up it's a blast. Recommended Route: Hard Core is the best technical section and the rest is flat out fun when the sand isn't an issue. Other recommended trails in the same area: Harbison (SP?) in Columbia is a better choice right now. It's more technically challenging and has more climbing. I think K3 is more fun overall but right now it's too messed up.

Weekend Warrior Summary: This was my second time to this trail and I have to admit that this is the best trail I've seen in this part of the state and even part of the Southeast US. The trail is a pretty fast trail as long as you have some type of riding experience on a bike. I think this trail is all about aerobic ability and trust in yourself. There are climbs which are not really steep but kinda long for a beginner (chose the right gears). The best part in my opinion is the couple of downhill sections where you can get some awesome speed and feel the wind (and bugs depending on the season) on your face. Its a pretty long trail about about more-or-less 8 miles. There are some ups-and-downs and a couple of areas where you can jump around a little. Overall, go there, ride there, you'll like it. Watch your head on the sign "Ride Hard,Live Well".

Cross Country Rider Summary: Though there is some sand along K3, it isn't any where near as bad as the last reviewer made it out to be. I have never had the sand slow me to a stop. I have slide around a bit in places, but overall, K3 is a super nice, low impact trail.
The re-routing at the beginning of the ride (who remembers climbing that sandy fire road?) and the addition of the Hardcore section really had a huge impact on the quality of this trail.
Yes, this trail has some sand, doesn't have much elevation change (so not much climbing) but, it's still about 14 miles of fun.
