Cross Country Rider Summary: First let me start by saying I've been riding in Arcadia for 15 years on average 3 times a week, so I have extensive knowledge of the trail network, difficulty, length & loop options. And I picked cross country rider only because I ride 5-6 days a week, I ride more trail / allmountain with a few drops, bike is a Santa Cruz Heckler.
This is a decent trail, but hardly one of the best in Arcadia, and it is at the far end of the management area land. It makes a decent starting point to various loops by connecting with other trails on the other side of Browning Mills pond, but hardly a ride in itself. Recommended Route: Starts off with a mellow single track incline as it winds it's way over a few stone walls until you hit a road crossing, trail is across the street just to the left. Single track continues on along a minature stream until you hit a wood bridge, go over the bridge to the left, if you take a right at the bridge you end up in MUD&BOULDER he!!. The trail continues upward with a few cut offs to the left, you'll know when you hit the top because Rte 95 will be audible/visible, you'll be on a fire road.
Go left on the fire road (past the red porta john) until you come to a fire road intersection with a right(up to Rte95) or left(downhill to Browning Mills Pond). Look almost straight across from where you are coming from and you will see a trail head. Head down this single track, across the wood bridge and take a left. Fairly hairy/rocky trail, totally rideable, takes you to the bottom of the fire road at Browning Mills pond.
From here there are a few choices to continue on up towards Mt. Tom , Hudson trail and the rest of Arcadia on both sides of Rte 165. Other recommended trails in the same area: I will be writing more reviews for some of my favorite trails in Arcadia, such as the URI research loop, Hell trail, Pine top ski area and Beach Pond trail. These are my own names for the loops, they each encompass several named & unnamed trails in the Arcadia area.
Some good places to park to ride from are the White Church on Rte 165 which gives you 5 imediate trails choices(3 heading out behind the white church 2 across Rte165). Also going down the dirt road along the side of the White Church to the end, take a right and park at the pond which gives you 3 trail choices. One other place is about 2 or 3 miles past the White Church on Rte 165 at the top of a hill just before you get to Beach Pond / CT border. On the left side of Rte165 you'll see a dirt road with the DEM red bar blocking it, park there and head straight in.

, from Floral Park, NY Summary: This trail goes on for miles and miles. I often get lost riding this trail and have to rely on my friends IL and MC to get me home. The trail is sick (I mean I get sick from riding thgis trail because I am so out of shape). I do not recommend riding this trail after a night out at the Coast Guard House drinking bourbons and mind erasers. Wicked cool trail. Recommended Route: By car Other recommended trails in the same area: Fraternity Circle -URI campus

, from Middletown Summary: As the other guy said, this is probably the best XC-ing in Rhode Island. Fire trails for quick access and easy to moderately technical single tracks throughout the management area. There is draw backs to this area, there are several riding stables just outside the management area, and they of course think that they own the trails. Recommended Route: route 165 to park headquarters Other recommended trails in the same area: White mountains in New Hampshire
