Fire roads lead to some non-technical single track. Just keep poking around, there a quite a few options. Do it fast and it's fun(just watch the poeple and their dogs). For a decent downhill get up and over to the backside of the ski hill. There is a jeep trail that goes ab. 300 vertical ft down to the park below. You'll pop out into a field, keep straight and you'll find the trail to head back up.

Summary:
The trail starts with a good leg burning climb and eventually brings you into the central part of the woods and trails. There are quite a few different single track trails scattered about. Most of the trails are not technical but can be ridden very fast which makes it fun. There are a few technical trails but they are hidden well so find someone who knows the trails. If you want a good workout, go to whites woods. Do not underestimate the simplicity of the trails however. When not paying attention to speed and trees, you could easily end up badly injured here as I did.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Roaring Run in Apollo PA. - FAAARRR more technical.

Adding on to this. Whites woods does not have any uptodate maps but you can go to the Indiana Lib (Same build as the Jimmy Stewart Musuem) and get a map that is 20 yrs old :)

If you Cross 954, where the power station is you can hook up with some other gas well roads that can take you for miles and miles of riding. While not all that technical the gas well roads go up some killer hills.
