Seven Tubs

From the gate, ride down the paved road (pavement will get rougher) until you get to the dirtmound (2 miles). Make a SHARP left and follow the rocky trail upmake, the next sharp left go about 1 mile and look for the singletrack on your right. Follow this trail up the mountain. It will be rocky in some sections and will be about 2 - 3 miles. At the end of the previous singletrack/doubletrack you will come to a "T", make a right, and go up a long straight rocky doubletrack it will take you to the very top of the mountain. great view! Start down the mountain. Stay to the right at the first "Y" then make the next left (3 - 4 miles) and get ready for some fast downhill! At the bottom you can go right to get back to the access road or turn left to explore.You shouldn't get too lost since Rt. 81 is one side and the mountain is on the other.

Take the northeast extension of the PA turnpike (476) to the Wilkes-Barre exit take Rt. 115 north about 4-5 miles down the mountain. Turn left right before the concrete divider (between the north & south bound lanes). There is a yellow gate at the entrance.

Summary:
Decided to write up a short review on the tubs trails since there hasn't been one in quite some time. The tubs, although not very long (about 2 mile loop and sick separate downhill section), are the most fun and diverse trails in the area. I rode here a few times per week this summer and always had a blast. A couple friends and myself did a decent amount of work to the trails this summer (trimmed branches, bushes, cleaned up, moved rocks around, etc.) and even built a ladder gap over the swampy area at the bottom of the blue loop. These trails have really technical spots and some awesome fast flowy sections, along with some tough climbs that will give your body and legs a good workout. If you are looking for fun single track with some technical spots, go give the tubs a shot and hit the ladder gap.

Recommended Route:
The best way to get the full tubs experience is to park in the middle parking lot. Ride your bike up the paved access road until you see the spray painted section of guard rail almost all the way up on the right. Hop the guard rail and drop in, follow the trail around to the right across the wooden bridge and then make a left. Keep following this until you come out to a wider trail that turns up to the left again. Follow that and hug the trail to the left. You pretty much want to keep going left at this point. Stay left all the way up some tough climbs where you can see the railroad tracks down the bank on your left side and you'll reach a plateau. Once you get to the plateau there is a really fast downhill section all the way to the bottom, which is so much fun. Once you are at the top of the downhill section you are going to want to keep right on the well maintained trail since left is a huge cliff that falls in the actual tubs. If you follow the right trail you will shred all the way to the bottom and pop out by the paved walk-way. Now go left across the wooden walking bridge to start the blue loop. Cross the bridge and make a right and follow that all the way around.

Continuing from above, the blue loop is easy to follow if you just keep going straight. Once you're near the top of the blue loop you'll enter a technical rock garden. Take that down to the right and when it opens up with the tubs in front of you stay left and you'll ride the left side of tubs and you'll end back at the wooden walking bridge.

Summary:
This trail is crazy! I usually park at the top of the entrance aling side the guard rail. There is a nice drop-in to the trail if you hoist your bike over the guard rail. You will see a single track entrance that takes you down into the wooded area. Cross over the log bridge and ride-on! This trail is not recommended for beginners. There is a lot of rocks ("graveyards" with huge rocks), roots, off-kilter terrain. You can ride the blue loop, or venture across the railroad tracks to what they call "Mountain Park" and climb some tough, loose rock trails. But on the otherhand, coming back down is an adventure in itself. A ride here can range from say.. 2 miles.. to.. whaever you make it I suppose. There are endless outlets here.

Recommended Route:
Start at the park entrance and ride the blue loop if you are new to the park.

Summary:
7-Tubs...this odd name now means some seriously fun rock and root infested riding with the excellent possibility of falling off a cliff. In other words, great! The blue trail is a fun and challenging loop, with various side trails to explore. A great place to ride if you want a short ride that will improve your skills. Also a spooky fun night ride. Not a beginner trail and very slippery when wet!

Recommended Route:
Park at the entrance gate. Hump bike over the guard rail on left, take first left turn, cross log bridge. Explore the singletrack and soon you will run into the blue blazed trail.

Summary:
if u enter on the giant fallow ther tracks to the high tention wires that run from walmart to laurel run estates. make a right (up the mtn) and continue on that road thru a birch grove. when you reach a open area of grass on ther right hand side of the road statrt looking for a trail of to the right. it usually has wate running down it. fallow that up. you will come to a pond, kidder dam. about 10 feet after the pond theres a hardly noticable Y. if you go left in the woods (walking only) there will be caves of rocks to explore. if you go around the rocks and on top of them there will be another set of rocks. get on top of them and u have a veiw of the valley:: if at the Y you go right you will reach the top of the mountian

Summary:
We continued to follow the quad trail along 81. At various times we could see the VA hospital and Arena Hub shopping area. Trail is rocky and had lots of pools of water. Followed until we came to the culm banks. Road up the first spot we could. This led to a series of plateaus. Last plateau came out on the "burning road". We took a left and headed all the way up to Laurel Run road on the old Narrow Gauge rail bed. Turned around and blasted back until we could see Rt 115. Climbed down the ledge to the parking lot of Seven Tubs. Great ride. Tons of trails off to the sides that we didn't explore. Will be back soon.

Recommended Route:
We parked at the gate to Seven Tubs Recreation area. Went down the paved road untill it turned to concrete. Went over the smashed and washed out concrete bridge until the path turns to a quad trail.
