Moon Park

Average Rating:    (3.5 of 5)

No. of Reviews: 2

Two well-maintained path loops connected by a new technical single-track (narrow bench cuts, creek crossings, steep climbs and descents). The one path is maintained by the Park, the other is maintained by a nearby neighborhood. The single-track is new and needs some traffic. The single track path branches off from Moon Park near the Challenger Soccer Field, which is the last parking area before you leave the park.

Summary:
With the new addition to the trail system, you can ride a small loop for around 3 miles, including the Ski XC section, at the moment there are several trees down, mud is only on the shady areas, some good hills and very few drops, if you are looking for a quick cardio workout with a small amount of time this park has the right trail.

Recommended Route:
The trail starts by the baseball field but you can connect to it as well by the restrooms, follow the trail to the end turn around by the wooden rail-fence and come back the same way to the sign Ski XC make a right and go down hill at the end turn around to connect to the trail you came from and continue back to starting point which you will have to climb a nice steep hill. Here is a little map of the track:

Summary:
Easy trails to start in Moon Park. Nice technical single track that runs for about 1.5 miles. A 0.5 mile easy loop to turn around and make your way back.

Recommended Route:
Enter the park, and find the first trail head near Devenzio Baseball Field (first baseball field on left). Follow that trail around the perimeter of the park. At the other side of the park (near Challenger Soccer Field), you will find the single-track branching off - take that across the valley and creeks until you hit the 2 track path near a neighborhood. Thats the turn around loop. Turn around and make your way back.

I forgot to add that the total ride takes about 45 minutes - 1 hour.
