All Kinds any level of rider! You name it it is there! You may need a local like my Brother or I to show you around but definatley worth your wild! In My opinion if you want to be a racer in this part of the country this is where you shoudl train! One of the rides that my brother and I do is a 3 miles constant climb with no downhill at all to a 7 miles Climb with 2 ro three downhills on the way that rewards you with a good 3 miles of downhill fast technical riding on either single track or Washed out Fire roads! If you are interested e mail me! I'll point you in the right direction. Or I will ride along if I am not tied up. Marriage LOL!

Summary:
This is an updated review and some history of how this got posted and what is involved here. When we Ride the "Mary D Standard" (We used this name for it, because every time I'm home (Grew up in Mary D) we always ride it, it became the Standard Mountain Bike Ride for my Brother and I, and whoever wanted to tag along) The ride itself, this particular combination of fire roads to endless miles of pristine singletrack, starts in Mary D. The ride uses trails that start and end there, but extend to the Burma, Silvercreek, Firetower, Locust Lake Single track. These trails are mostly all old Enduro Trails, and they are perfect mountain biking trails....Tons of fun, lots of tough climbs, fast downhills, techy/rocky singletrack, and even some good Flow (The Trail from the Tower Back down towards the Brockton Mountain) It's a full day ride to do it all, it's fun challenging, and pretty much not known except for the locals in the area. Get on the Forums for tips on places to go etc. Some Mapping is available via electronic devices.

Recommended Route:
Get on the Forums and ask about the area, or get a hold of someone that rides there. It's worth your time, but not if you don't know how to hook it all up and make it Epic. Some of the best trails in this State, are the ones off the beaten path.

Summary:
The MaryD trails offer a lot of miles and great scenery, despite the wasteland of the abandoned strip mine. I rode both the trails good review described, moderately challenging singletrack and they led me to an endless power line trail strewn with 5-10 inch rocks. I saw no one for 4-5 hours, as no one else would visit this small place, unless they have friends or family there. Its worth the trip is you are in town, and the Tamaqua Bungalow trails are about 7-8 miles away.

Summary:
Do not go to ride this trail unless you want to waste your time!!! It is a gross coal mining area... Some places in this region in PA are nice for riding bikes but this is not one of them. Climbs are too steep to ride up and peoples houses are often in the way. Weird, annoying and pointless

Recommended Route:
don't go!
