Weekend Warrior Summary: these trails in the national forest are bad ass to ride or hike many days worth of riding here and after you have a feel for the trail and its lay out you can just cut off down throurh the woods and make your own special rought jumpimg logs or rocks i have done 5' drops on my hardtail sweat nice area to ride dont get me wrong there are better such as the hills in Va. thier faster and more technical. i would more than take people out to ride in these woods if poeple showed inerest or got a hold of me and were for real. Recommended Route: look for trail markers such as north country or tanbark park and ride dont dis like the trail for the section that you rode because with the new and old growth that we have its always changing Other recommended trails in the same area: any around the area that were previosely mentioned such as the minister creek or out at chapmans damn

Ridden Trail: Once a year

, from Johnstown, pa Summary: I have been there one weekend a year for the past five years and have yet to ride any of the same singletrack trails. The single track is there, might be a little tuff to find due to the vastness of the area. Buy a map and have fun. Other recommended trails in the same area: Try Minister Creek, Twin Lakes Trail, North Country Trail to name a few.

, from Pittsburgh Summary: Although there is a beautiful piece of National Forest up there, there are no real "mountain bike" trails. I was born in the area and we have some bootleg trails that are in the woods, all single track and very technical. One is called the gook loop and is about 10 miles. Is out toward the Willow Bay section of the kinzua dam. A lot of rocks, stumps, trees, and woods riding. It is one of the better trails I have ridden. Recommended Route: no markings. tough to find.

, from Sugar Grove PA Summary: No singletrack????? Jeez, there are the 90 miles of the North Country Hiking trail which is all singletrack (and some old railroad bed, check the maps!) Then there is the minister creek hiking loop, which is all single track and around 10 miles. The Tanbark hiking trail, all singletrack about 12 miles or so. Rock Gap and Marienville ATV trails, which might be as wide as an atv but certainly is not boring! (20 miles for Rocky Gap, 25 miles for Marienville). These are all clearly marked on any recreational map of the ANF. Recommended Route: Hiking Trails

, from centre hall, PA Summary: I have no idea who posted this then left out the part about the ride. (the important part.) I grew up near here and started mt biking around the same general area. I have never known of any singletrack in the ANF. I have ridden my dual sport there on the enduro trails. most of what i can find is dirt roads and four wheeler trails. there is an absolute abundance of four wheeler trails. they are boring and poorly designed in this underdeveloped area of PA. I have no idea of any singletrack, i have never seen any here. that is not to say it does not exist. i have emailed the person who posted this asking about it, but in my experience i have not found any. i would strongly recommend that if someone wanted to ride here THEY FIND A LOCAL. unless you are happy with dirt roads. my instinct would point me to cecil's bikes in dubois. he used to have a shop in st marys, too. he would probably know where the stuff is. you can also try love's canoe rentals in ridgway. this shop is much closer to the forest, but not entirely focused on bikes. there just isn't enough interest in the area to support it. i hope that you do not feel that i am downplaying this trail or trails. i am only trying to help anyone interested in riding. it will not be an easy feat for an outsider to find enjoyable trails without the help of more local info. so please view this as advice to help. if you want you can always contact me for more specific info on the contacts provided. don p.s. the 3 rating is cause i don't know anything bout the trails themselves Recommended Route: unknown Other recommended trails in the same area: RATTLINGCREEK!!!!!! ok so it's a club and not a trail, but they are building their own trails. 20+ miles of sweet new singletrack, just north of harrisburg. check it out!! also though in Bradford there is zippo and there is welfare, but they have the Allegheny State Park with some nice trails, namely bee hunter (i think) it is a really cool technical out and back or loop back on the pavement. real cool place for a family day with a short ride, they have a beach and camping etc. wouldn't make the trip just for the ride, but if you want a get away from it day and the family is along there is some riding to be had.
