Cedar Creek Park

Part of the Yough Trail, but some beginner single track is available within Cedar Creek Park. The Gorge Trail and some smaller offshoots of st can be mixed in with the Yough Trail towards either Smithton or West Newton.

Trail Directions
Enter Cedar Creek Park on Rt 51 just north of I-70. Follow signs to the back of the park where the bike rental/concessions are. Drive just past the rental building to the back parking lot near the river (about 100 yds from rental). Park here and access the Yough River Trail or the Gorge Trail and other un-named single track trails. Not a lot of st riding here, maybe a mile at most but it's a good break from the gravel YRT. Trail can also be accessed from West Newton. As soon as you enter Cedar Creek Park on the YRT you will be above the gorge trail on the first bridge. Turn left or right immediately after crossing bridge onto the Gorge Trail.

Summary:
We ride the Yough River Trail a few times a week to keep in shape for single track on the weekends. The Cedar Creek Park area is a nice break from the gravel trails. The Gorge Trail is approx 3/4 mile long and is wide, gentle beginners single track. Near the end of the trail are two large fallen trees and a rocky stream crossing. That's as technical as it gets :) Lots of other trails shoot off and loop around along the creek. A nice change of pace for a mile or so before returning to the YRT to finish your ride. I checked with the bike rental/concessions in the park, MTB'ing is allowed on these trails.

Recommended Route:
We like to park at the West Newton trail head, ride 4 miles to Cedar Creek, run the Gorge Trail and other off shoots, then return back to West Newton. 9-10 miles depending how many trails you ride off the Gorge Trail.
