Spring Mountain Ski Resort

There are a veriaty of trials, from wide open gently sloping service roads that take you to the top of the ski slope, to technical steep climbs and challenging high speed downhills. Soon, hopefully in october 2005, there will be a small freeride park with lots of bridges and "teetor totors" for all you freeride lovers out there. But if your not one for the drops, be sure to check out one of the most fun and challenging cross-country trails in the area. Lots of technical rock gardens, short but technical climbs, and highs speed technical downhills. Yes I know its alot of technical, but believe me, YOU CAN MAKE IT.

Trail Directions
The cross country trail starts at the main lodge of the ski slope. If you stand facing the ski lodge, turn to you left and follow the parking lot up to where the "magic carpet lift" is sitting. At the very top of the parking lot there is a small opening where the trail starts. I have not put up trail signs yet, but I hope to have the entire trail maped out on a topo map, and have trail signs up by september, 2005. For the downhill trails theres a bit of not very steep but long climbs. Spring Mountain has two parking lots, theres a parking lot up by the lodge, and theres one down the road that puts you at the chair lifts. To get to the downhill trails, go to the bottom parking lot. Start the climb at the left chair lift and follow the ski trail up the hill, note: don't ride up the steep slopes, thats stupid, take the flatest trail up.The downhill trails go off of all the major ski slope trails. Good luck, theres plenty of trails, you just have to find them.

Summary:
the trails at Spring mountain are some of the best trails around. there is something for everyone including downhill, cross country, and freeride trails. the cross country trail is about 5 miles long and includes alot of technical downs and ups and even some nice flat land rock gardens that will challenge you. the down hill and freeride courses are very technical and contain alot of drops from 1footers to 6 footers. over all this is one of the best places to ride.

Recommended Route:
for the cross country trail head park in the farthest parking lot on your left by the maggig carpet lift thing. the trail entrence will be right there. for the downhill courses just cimb to the top of spring mountain and look for an entrance off one of the ski trails there are lots.
