Bald Eagle State Forest

There are tons of trails here to piece together an epic XC trip. You probably won''t see another rider all day. The trails range from forest roads, grassy double track, to technical single track and even a few downhill bombers. Cowbell Hollow is a local favorite.

Summary:
Sometimes you have to ride the fireroads to find the good singletrack, Blad Eagle is a prime example of that. My buddy has a cabin close to Cowbell Hollow, which is an incredible trail (recommend riding west to east starting at Cooper Mill road). So dont vandalize any cabins! An excellent map was made by a Bucknell professor, here's the link : http://www.facstaff.bucknell.edu/marsh/small_bikemap.jpg
Be aware, some trails are taken back by the forest and can be hard to follow. The route I suggest is easy to follow. Cowbell can get narrow with overgrown brush, wearing pants is not a bad idea.

Recommended Route:
A smaller version on the epic Cowbell Hollow Loop is Cowbell Hollow trail to Running Gap Road to Top Mountain Trail, take a left down the wicked downhill of Glen Cabin Trail marked blue and finish it off with Spruce run road and Cooper Mill Rd to wherever you choose to park (I suggest the bridge over White Deer Creek at Cooper Mill).

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Down the Stoney Gap Trail is fun and isnt too steep to climb, Rocky Bottom Trail is nice singletrack. I do NOT recommend S. Running Gap Trail or Buck Trail, they are the few trails that once existed and have since grown in making it impossible to follow let alone ride.
