New Singletrack being build by Local clubs (legally). Valley Mountain Bikers, with help from the Chain Gang and the Dirt Devils, are building some of eastern PA's funnest singletrack. The Project is not complete yet but there is a 6 mile loop completed at this time. Trails offers a little bit of everything, Some fast sections, big rock sections, fun switchbacking climbs, sloluming xc downhills, and an overall cool vibe tothe entire place. for mor info or if you are interested in helping out go to www.bikevmb.com and ask about Salisbury trail work and you will be informed.
Take Route 22 east or West to Route 378 South. Continue on 378 South all the way into Bethlehem. At the second traffic light after the bridge, make a Left onto Deleware Ave. Continue on this road until you come the second traffic light. At this light Turn Right (only choice), you are now on Broadway. Go up the Hill and make the last Rightturn at the top of the Hill onto Weil Street. Take Weil Street up and over the mountain and come down to a stop sign at Cardnail Drive. Left onto Cardnail, This Road will Turn into dirt (now Constitution Drive). Follow dirt road to the second stone parking lot at the bottom of the hill. Once i nthe parking lot, look at the big Hiking map, the mtb trail enters the woods to the left side of the parking lot relation to the map.
Summary: Lot's of fun and a good challenge. I had numerous pedal strikes and frustrating moments. Plenty of rocks on a tight single track. It was a unique ride in that it was well maintained and refined, yet retained it's ruggedness and never felt too synthetic to the environment. Great Job to all those who created it. It could use a few more jumps for some air time.
Recommended Route: I started by the train tracks on constitution and headed west on "Spanky".

Summary: First of all, to the people who built this trail: THANKS!!!!! It ROCKS! This is one of my favorite places to ride in the Lehigh Valley, and I highly recommend it to experienced mountain bikers. A few words of caution for all, however. This place is not like Jordan Creek, where all of the trails are a short walk from the car. Make sure your bike is in good shape and you have a spare tube and appropriate tools before you start, particularly if your ride might get you close to nightfall. A flashlight in the backpack wouldn't be a bad idea in those conditions - the walk out in the dark could be a long one. This place is very rocky and will beat on your bike pretty hard.
This is NOT the place to bring your new girlfriend/boyfriend who has recently taken up mountain biking to hang with you on weekends. It is for experienced riders who can deal with lots of rocks. In the heat of the summer, the horseflies can be ridiculously aggressive. Bring bug repellent just in case.
Recommended Route: I have always started at the top of the hill as shown on the mtbr map.

Summary: Just another update for May '07. We have added a new trail section, the orange trail, which was completed around Feb. This is a great section that has lots of turns and ups and downs. You'll love it if you get on it.
This brings the mileage total up to around 9.5 total.
We also did a small reroute section at the top of Consitution where you cross the paved road on the red trail. Look up the street about 20 yards for the new trailhead. This section has a little pump track part and is a blast.
We're also looking to ad trails on the separate West side of the park. We may start working on them this Summer.
Recommended Route: Dodson Street park is a great place to start from. Start on the yellow and go from there!

Summary: Just an update as of October 2006. There are now 8 miles of twisty singletrack. This is divided up into the red, blue and yellow trail section. The red trail is the main loop.
Also, the boulder trail has been completed, now dubbed the Black Angel trail. This trail is a great technical challenge, but remember its definately not for beginning riders.
There is now another trailhead with better parking at Dodson St. From Broadway(in directions above) turn onto Dodson st right by the WaWa store, and take this up until the park at the end. Pick up the yellow trail here.
More trails are planned as of this month and we hope to start trailwork again in Novemeber '06. Have fun, check bikevmb.com for more info
Recommended Route: Strat at Dodson park-pick up up the yellow trail, stay right, hit the red trail and go right, go all the way around to Consitution (stone road), climb the spanky (still the red trail after the little parking lot), take the blue loop (ridge trail and peak trail), back to the red.
Then cross Constitution again, take this all the way out until you see the yellow markers and climb back up to Dodson park.
check bikevmb.com for trail map.

Summary: These new trails are fast becoming a favorite of mine. Lots of rocks and some great twisty singletrack are what to expect. The trail construction is beautiful, with some serious switchbacks cut into the climb out of the bottom parking lot. With the additional trails being planned for this park, this place is definitely worth checking out.
Recommended Route: start by climbing the spanky trail, and then follow a general counterclockwise loop.
