Ridden Trail: Once a week

Weekend Warrior Summary: I see no one has posted in a few years - the small group that continues to ride do a pretty good job of maintaining. The old reviews are accurate that the main trail could be classified as a fire road; however, there are plenty of side trails. Some nice obstacles, bridges etc. Recommended Route: If you are familiar with the campus I suggest starting at the Logan house ride the paved path across the ped bridge over the bayfront highway. As soon as you cross the ped bridge take a quick right and take the grassy path around Behrend fields - drop into the woods near the retention basin near the new bridge - drop into the gorge on the first downhill you see (skilled riders only)
If you are a new to the sport or want an easier way in - start at the bottom of cooper rd. cross 4mi creek do the small out and back - cross again and ride the trails along the river to the main fire road hill. Ride to the top (you'll know you are there as you can only go left or right) - if you're in a hurry go right and drop back down to the bottom. If not go left and explore until you find Jordan Rd. (paved) cross Jordan and there is a small loop that will take you to the new athletic center. You can't get lost as the trails wind around the Penn State Behrend campus - have fun! Other recommended trails in the same area: Asbury Woods, Overland

, from ERIE,PA.U.S Summary: Here's the deal these trails don't exist to anyone but the cross country team and the creek, there hard to maintain, hard to bridge, and fun for us all. The trails are a fairly long ten mile loop, up's down's to one mile in length. Different loop's for skill and diversity, you want to climb climb! You want to scare hiker's go somewhere else. Be curtious show respect and slow down when you see a dog or human this is one of the last in bounds area's in Erie. After this we start driving far away,Asbury Woods has nothing on Behrend. Seriously it's so much fun and I'm thirty and old, we need to protect this gift As LONG AS WE CAN when I'M fifty and slow you can tell me to go to hell till then wise up and look for the wednesday group ride to show you around this beautiful trail system. Recommended Route: from second parking lot on campus past tennis courts on right go up go down just hold on. Other recommended trails in the same area: RED HAUS, CLARK RD. ASBURY WOODS. SCOOT PARK. DAVE BENDER RIDE IN GIRARD

, from North East, PA Summary: This loop that we do is 8.5 miles and now fire road. I mean anything you can drive a car on isn't mountain biking anyway. This place is awesome. Recommended Route: Start at the bottom but go to the right out of the small parking lot. Go down to the creek and ride it untill you see some space across the creek ride there until dead end cross creek again you willsee path new trail ride to dead end. turn around and go back on same side of creek until you reach a large concrete pipe. Cross main fire road and go up. Challenging beyond imagination. At top there is a small loop that has been cut in half by new road. Go to campus and go up. There are numerous trails along the cliff and you can cross Jordan road for yet another loop. Then the downhill home. Sweet

, from ERIE Summary: This trail has alot to offer any real mountain biker, long discipline testing climbs, fast descents, quick steep drops that require technique, skill, and guts. If you are one who likes a long rolling XC ride that takes you miles from your car this may not be for you. however if you like a good hard workout while staying within 30 min (if youve broken your bike) of your auto and civilization this is a great trail system. There are lots of trails to find that can hone any skill you are lax in. For the location this place offers alot of fun and beauty. We have a group that rides almost every wed. night after we are released from our respective jobs and it is a blast! If you dont like it you are......A) out of shape. B)just a downhiller and hate climbs. or C) you want a trail that takes you far far away from parking, people, and help. Recommended Route: THIS TRAIL CAN START FROM A FEW PLACES. DEPENDINIG ON HOW YOU WANT TO END YOUR RIDE (ie) CLIMB OR DIVE! Other recommended trails in the same area: OVERLAND ( a bit of a drive from erie but well worth it), ASBURY WOODS
