Summary:
While some of the trails in the VF/Betzwood area are definitely posted as being closed, there are still ample areas of singletrack to ride on. There is a nice loop on the VF side of the river, just to the right of where the footpath on the 422 bridge dumps out onto the access road. There are many more on the Betzwood side of the river, and they can be accessed from either the paved bike path or the gravel path that sits below the paved route. You can spend hours on the singletrack exploring, and there are some pretty technical sections for more experienced riders. Other sections cater nicely to those who are still learning.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Evansburg

Summary:
I regret to inform everyone that Valley Forge National Park is now closed to off-trail riding. The path everyone uses is now clearly marked "please stay on trail" (the gravel hiking trail). The park rangers claim that off-trail riding is destroying the historic nature of the park, as well as the habitat. They want to re-vegetate the trails, which will never happen anyway with the 10,000 deer currently residing and using the trails as well... LOL. But seriosly, the trails are now closed.

Recommended Route:
N/A. Unless you wish to use the Bike/Hike/Horse trails in the area. It's all graded, gravel and big enough to ride an SUV through. Beautiful scenery but that's about it.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Wissahickon's our last solid region to enjoy our sport. Please help protect the trails there by volunteering to rebuild trails on weekends & buying a biking permit (which is required supposedly). Information is available in the small pavilion next to Valley Green. Also please don't destroy the trails by riding in extremely muddy conditions, or during a storm.

Summary:
There are still a lot of good single track routes open, you just have to look.

Recommended Route:
Start in the Betzwood parking area on the paved path toward 422. You will noticed on the right there is an access road and a break in the plastic guard rail. Cut up this access rock road and make your first left. You will find yourself in some nice single track, tight at parts with switch-backs.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
If you park in Betzwood, go over the bridge that carries 422. When you get off the bridge, turn right toward to end of the old bridge and make an immediate left. You will be between the railroad tracks and the river. There is a nice single track in this area; reasonable for beginners, okay for intermediate with speed.

Reviewed by: Local Tom , from Trooper

Summary:
Trails are getting wider and showing more as people move and go around obstacles. Seen people on full suspension bikes go around logs no more than 10 in. in diameter. Also seems that some presence is helping to "groom" some of the trails installing plywood and tree branch bridges across some trail features.

Recommended Route:
Any are good just wander around. A lot of the good trails have been signed off.

Reviewed by: boomie , from a small suburb of reading, pa

Summary:
What a beautiful, tranquil place. There were plenty of hills and valleys to cover, and the trail was smooth and wide. There were interesting historic buildings and monuments to see all along the route. The best part of all was the amount of white tailed deer that we saw while we rode. We even witnessed a mother with her newborn fawn, moments after birth. The countryside is glorious, and we simply loved the whole experience.

Recommended Route:
Don't have a recommended route. We rode completely around the perimeter of the park. We stayed on the macadam trail, for the most part.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Blue Marsh Trail, near Reading, PA. It goes all around the lake, and the views are spectacular. A must see.
