Summary:
Been a while since I hit this sight. I'm totally stoked that someone posted the Burma on here! What a Great Place to ride! THanks to the Enduro Club From New Philly! Alas Since I moved to Western PA I dont get the Opportunity to ride this masterpiece as much as I once did, I grew up in Mary D, and I've been riding these things Since youth First on a BMX (Which Sucked Climbing those hills), to a Dirt Bike and now a Mountain Bike. My brother Tells me that the place is growing in popularity which is great for the sport. Remeber I dont want to find Gel Packs on the ground in my back yard! When I get to come home again my brother and I are planning on GPS'ing the area this Summer (2004) So we can hit different stuff without getting too turned around. It's Really easy to get lost, up there if you dont know where your going especially with the Powerline Maze at the Top. Like others said the Singletrack is unmatched. The Dirt Bikes that made it for the enduro race really did a nice job, If you ride this stuff imagine doing it on a 500 Enduro bike! WOW! But anyway, Grab a local, either by email or through this site, and hit the trails, I hear alot of people are parking at or on the Fire tower Road to gain access this is a good spot for out of towners. Most locals ride from their house to the trails but thats not for the Faint of Heart or Legs I should say. Well Enjoy it and look for a sight that will house the GPS findings as I get them this summer '04

Jim Thorpe was great adn still is but they closed the Gamelands which sucks! Delano is great too, Talk to Jama about directions they had/have a race there every year. And for something quick the Bungalo in Tamaqua has a nice tight race coarse behind the Little League Field.

Summary:
Yet another great ride on The Burma today, this place never disappoints!

It's definately rocky and technical in some places, but there are so many trails and loops that you could ride forever. The single track can be challenging and it will definately beat you up, like someone else mentioned.

There are a lot fo really cool downhills and some punishing uphills to keep you honest. This is an unknown area to most PA riders, and it would be cool for some other groups to ride here and help maintain the trails.

There are so many, I wouldn't know where to begin. Just get out and explore.

Delano, PA. Not far from the Burma and just as good.

Summary:
been riding the burma for along time (12yrs.), the single tract in my opinion is unmatched. shawn, a dirt jumper unvailed this area to me 12-15 years ago, thanx. since then i get there as often as i can and always come out smiling. be prepared to explore, it exits and all the credit goes out to a motorcycle club that has been running endoro races every memorial day out of new philadelphia, rarely using the same loops...yep 80+ miles of stuff. im getting older and willing to share, im not that concerened though, not many come back, its good beat-ya-up stuff.

until ya see the area its hard to give good directions, allow yourself some time and explore
