Downhiller Summary: Definitely a fun place to ride, but it is not maitained at all. More geared towards downhill rather than freeride. I could hardly find any wooden stunts. There seemed to be some nice fast single track but I didn't spend much time on that. I snapped a chain and one of my pedals in half on a rock double. Lots of rocks, some of them very large. My ride was ended early but, I'll be back. Recommended Route: i took the trail off of plumett, I haven't found my way around there yet.

Weekend Warrior Summary: Trail for the DH run trails between the ski runs trails. Very Rocky lots & lots of boulders. Ladders and ramps built to impossible passages on these natural terrain. Low speed runs with very technical trails. The wooden bridge spanning over the boulders is still holding up (MICO AKA "Abington Bicycles" circa early 2000). The wodden drop to the toilet bowl is still intact (need big cajones to attempt that one). deterioration are starting to show on a few stunts since they stopped freeriding day in 2004. definitely a place to bring out the full face helmet. Body armor is a must if riding through these stunts. Bring a buddy also incase of injuries. Recommended Route: Park at the lot at the bottom of the ski lift. Take a hike upwards on one of the ski trails or outlining areas. Other recommended trails in the same area: none

Ridden Trail: Once a week

Weekend Warrior Summary: This area is less then a mile from my house, when I have the extra hour in my day I cruse on over to the mountian and get my spin on. That being said, Spring Mountain is full of various stunts, drops, steeps and deeps.
You need to have a bike that is set up for freeride potential to realy get the full scope of Spring Mountain. But be warned, some of the stunts are starting to rot. I broke through one just last week. Granted I am a Clydesdale rider, but the area needs some new attention from the local riders to get in there and fix it up.
For the Greater Philly area, this is the most technical terrain I have found. Recommended Route: Lately it has been the trail that takes off from the ski trail "Plumet". The trail heads down the steeper backside of Spring Mountain and connects you to the Perkiomen trail. The trail is steep and has a mongo stunt which you can easily by-pass if need be. Other recommended trails in the same area: Wissahickon Valley Park, French Creek, Evensburg State Park.

Downhiller Summary: I love this place for a few reasons....
One it is 5 minutes from my house the other is that it is some of the best downhill riding that I know of!! There are dozens of trails that leave you smiling ear to ear as you are cruising off ladder drops and boulder launches.
Full suspension is recommended but I rode my P3 hardtail for the first couple years up here so come one and all:)
New stunts and trails are always popping up here and there so explore and have fun!! Recommended Route: Any of them!! Other recommended trails in the same area: Mt. Penn, Reading
