Sewickley Heights Park

Singletrack, fire roads, rock, etc. The trail has a good mix of everything. There are some insanely fast technical downhills if you look for them. There are also quite a few steep descents through creek beds. Tons of logs and usually fairly muddy. The main trails are marked to help with nvigation. The further you get away from the parking lot, the less people and dogs you will run into. Watch out for horses!

Ridden Trail:
Once a week

Reviewed by: Chuck McNamara , from Sewickley

Summary:
Great variety in trials, fast, relaxed, technical, it's pretty much how fast you go that determines the difficulty. I've wiped out here. The mud is fun too. If you're in the area, you obviously know the place. If not, check it out.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Try the trials behind the Sewickley YMCA- they can be some fun, fast downhill, but also can lead you into the heights to Sewickley Heights Park.

Ridden Trail:
Once a week

Reviewed by: arch , from Pittsburgh, PA

Summary:
The trail can get pretty muddy if it gets a lot of rain. It has some really fun technical sections but is mainly dominated by twisting (but not tight) singletrack. If you end up on a very long downhill, you will probably end up down on Fern Hollow and have to ride back up the driveway. No biggie, but a lot of work and not too much fun. Just go exploring and you will find a lot. There are trails on all sides from the parking area.

Recommended Route:
Park in the parking lot at the top of the hill. Many trailheads available from there.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
North Park
