Ridden Trail: Once a month

, from harrisburg Summary: Definatly a technical trail, i have a rock ring and was happy that i had it for some sections. Trail maintence is ongoing so be careful of sudden stops in the trail. Not something i would suggest riding by yourself the first couple of times. I started carrying maps because of this trail so get one if you can. You can make your own loops by connecting jeep trail to single track to hit the best technical sections. Contact the rattling creek singletrackers for good info and group ride times to hook up with some of the finished sections. Last word, always watch what your rear derailler picks up. Recommended Route: where ever you start get ready for rockgardens and nice climbs. Bring water and some air to suck on. Other recommended trails in the same area: Look up north towards Sunbury. Near bucknell college is a great bike shop called Campus cycle. They can give you direction to 5 or 6 different trail heads.

Ridden Trail: Once a month

, from centre hall, PA Summary: this trail is wonderful, but let me tell you firts off. it is not finished. we are riding it, but it still needs work. so keeping this in mind find a local to ride with. members of the Rattling Creek Singletrackers are always riding and working on the trail. the trail is, of course poorly marked since it isn't finished. but there are some good climbs and good descents as well as the most technical stuff around. i love that part. the rock work on rocks ridge is astounding. the trail has been built very well and it pays off in the ride. when this is finished it will be a 20+ mile loop that encompasses fast rolling singletrack with, tight rocky sections. there is plenty of riding for other skill levels but not on the singletrack loop. i rated this trail as extreme, because of all the rock. no one has cleaned it to my knowledge, and it will be a feat when someone does. i encourage you to come ride, but be prepared to get jolted around. RCST holds work days every second weekend of the month and usually has group rides immediately after. what this trail lacks in riding it is made up for cause i got to help build it. so even though it isn't noble canyon i give it a five. don p.s. the 1st annual mt bike bash issep 8-10. check out the web link for more info on the bash and the trail. Recommended Route: start at doc smith's so you get the climbing done first. Other recommended trails in the same area: none, cause i live too far away. but you can also visit a lot of the other reviews on this site for more info.
