Cross Country Rider Summary: Long, smooth trails a bit wider than "true" single track. It's really not all that technical and the climbs are usually short and moderately steep.
These trails are great. You can haul a$$ and almost never get tired. Great for endurance training. If you like the techny, gnarly stuff you should probably stay away. Other recommended trails in the same area: Hartwood Acres, Frick Park, South Park

Cross Country Rider Summary: Hey man i live right up the street in the villas and i bomb the baccock hill down to the park and hit anywhere from 5 to 18 miles depenting on my mood. I love this trail its amazing, especialy for xc riders and all mountain guys (well the ones that arent down hill junkies). This place is great especialy cause all ur climbs are rewarded and there arent many long demanding climbes either(except the ones to pie trainer those are some real leg burners). Tons of single track and if u know how to connect everything right u barely touch road or fire roads. ride this trail. Recommended Route: park at pie trainer then ride that descend one of the hills and ride the park from there. the trail is marked by white arows. ull see them along the street and trails in order to help u connect them all. Other recommended trails in the same area: sewickley heights

Cross Country Rider Summary: I am re-writing my previous review of this trail, but I am still very happy with the area and it improvments over the years. Since my involvment with Pittsburgh Off Road Cyclists and having my own ride listed weekly with them year round I like this place even more!.
New trails are always going in, and not fast enough for me~ but low impact on the enviroment !.
Lots of room in this park for trail expansion.
Just stay out of the Blind Area~( Brail Trail ) and Nature Center !.
These are nice trails, but off limits to all bikes, so stay out unless you want to pay $300.00 Fine and getting our mountain bike riding canceled in the park!.
This is a great big-ass park and lots of room for all kinds of rides. Just not so technical unless you know the alternate trails.
You can do any kind of ride here!.
Death March on hills, easy stuff on the Pie Traynor Feild area, mudd bath or bath tub Trails !.
This is not as fun as Hartwood, but a great f-ing place to cruise around and explore new trails and do old trails backwards and upside down.
And thanks to me and Bob and some others,
we got new trails to ride on!
BAM.
Kick It up a Notch!.
Remril.

, from pittsburgh pa Summary: I usually ride North Park a couple times a week. I have been riding here for over 10 years and things have changed a lot. There is tons of scenic and technical singletrack. Log piles, benchcuts, drops, and lots & lots of grueling hill climbs. But, there is also the old horse trails everywhere. These are well suited for the beginner, or for those that want to bomb trails going mach schnell. This is a good place to build your own dream trail because there is so much unused land here, and it is legal. The dude that said MT. bikes are not allowed is a complete idiot! You are actually allowed to ride, with lights of course, until midnight when the park closes. Thus making this an excellent place to nightride, and I frequently do. Check mountainbikepittsburgh.com or P.O.R.C. to find rides. Recommended Route: too many to mention, trails are everywhere. Just find a trailhead and start navigating. I suggest starting up by the pool, if you have never been here. one good thing about NP is that as long as you stay on a trail you'll never get lost. Other recommended trails in the same area: Hartwood Acres, Avonworth, Frick, Boyce, Roaring Run, Brady's Run, punk Enduro, Deer lakes, Bavington.......

, from Pittsburgh Summary: A good solid ride. The other reviewers hit the nail on the head. Not much excitement here, although we've been building some fast singletrack off of some abandoned equestrian trails. The more we build, the better it gets. Sorry, but this ain't on our map. You'll have to find it for yourself or join one of our weeknight rides. Check the sites message boards for details. www.MountainBikePittsburgh.com (CLICK INTO THE HUB). Recommended Route: Follow the route on our detailed map for download at www.MountainBikePittsburgh.com (click into the ride guide). Other recommended trails in the same area: Hartwood (tight and technical)and Riverview park (short and sweet)Kennerdell (The best)
